Culling Cards
Can you fight your way through the terrifying tower and deliver as many booster packs as possible to The Reviled?
Play it here or on itch.io!

Controls
Mouse should control everything - clicking cards, selecting enemies, selecting options, and opening booster packs.
Goal/Lore
You are a skeleton delivery person. You've received a new quest from a mysterious old man - deliver a set of booster packs to an eldritch creature known as The Reviled. In order to find him, you will have to fight through a treacherous tower full of many creeps and weirdos. You might even have to open some of the booster packs you are delivering to fend them off - but don't worry, defeating them gives you more booster packs...

@hammerfrenzy very fair! It was hard to determine how many rounds to include during playtesting lol... I think it would also be interesting to break it up with shops, or make some rooms "good" and give you free items, sorta like Monster Train. Make it go by quicker. I appreciate the feedback!
I liked the dithered-palettized 3D look and the monster sprites. Having the color of light creep under the doorway was a great touch that added some sense of agency to moving through the dungeon.
The gameplay got a tad repetitive near the end. Though it was saved by the new green and blue cards that could combo with the other cards. I also wish the final boss was tougher. By the time I was ready to use my damage-doubler card on the 50-damage card, the boss had so little health left that it hardly mattered.
But I enjoyed overall. Nice work!
the booster packs were pretty coool. i enjoyed the decision making that went into each battle that made an otherwise simple turn-based rpg more interesting. though i agree with the other comments that it was just a few rounds too many, not enough complexity yet. but given that you guys had only a limited amount of time to design the cards and battle system, i think that the elements you chose turned out quite balanced. im a fan!
I would buy it if it was a little bigger! I really hope that you continue to develop it! It's just a wonderful game!
I don't understand if physical and magical had much difference but i won nonetheless. Maybe having the possibility to keep one of the card would have been nice
It's to see booster packs in a game that isn't Pokemon or Hearthstone. There was a lot of reading at the start but once the gameplay started, it was cool.
@meepy I'm so glad you appreciate it! Yes i love the "stippled" look of the mspaint spray paint tool, that was the intended vibe. Thank you!!
@mediflect thank you!! high praise!
@phoenix-fireflower wow, thanks! we have some ideas we could flesh out for sure...
@yuriscat that's awesome, i'll have to go play your card game! thanks for playing :D
@infinatefalcon great to hear, that's what we hoped would happen!
@piano-forte oh my gosh yeah some of those final rooms are hard. Sorry you died, it definitely needs a balance patch. Thanks for playing!
@asfdfdfd thank you, we are really happy with how it turned out visually! glad you liked it :D
@lexuor so glad you liked it, we'd love to work on it more!
@herryfabien Oooh that's an interesting idea, cards that have "carry-over" effects or something... Maybe you could even the effect on a specific card to ensure you have it next battle or something. Thanks for the feedback!
@metallicpotato agreed! card designs were a stretch goal we didnt meet. Will be the first new edition to a newer ver. Thanks for playing!
@weirdbitgames thank you! i don't often get to code and do the music so i had to cross my fingers it would come out decent on time lol! You can definitely tell i've been playing a lot of chrono trigger from the music hahaha
@jb-rock thank you! That was definitely a big inspo!
@la-bread glad you liked it! "Ultrakill + Chrono Trigger" was my inspo for the music hahaha
