Technology has gone crazy! Battle the possessed tech with increasingly ancient weapons to get to the bottom of what is happening.

Controls
WASD to move. left mouse or space to dismiss dialog. During the battles, wisely choose your weapon from inventory in order to defeat your opponent. To remove an item from inventory, you must not be in a battle. Then you click the inventory item you want gone and it is GONE. No getting it back. But now you have freed up a spot.

Hotdogs
If you click on a hotdog at anytime you eat it and gain health. If you click on the hotdog to regain health during battle, you get the health but you used up a battle turn.

Misc
All graphics and music created during the event. The code was also developed during the event. I wanted to do a platformer with our great code library we built up, but no no. We just had to make a final fantasy style game.

It turned out great, so I can no longer complain. Learned a lot about this genre too.

Special thanks to TinkerMill for providing the community that makes this so fun.

I died on the roof (with a negative life;). It would have been nice not to restart from the beginning after a death... Anyway, I am always impressed by the creation of such games in limited time because it is complicated to design a coherent world with a story, characters and this with several phases (exploration and fighting). Bravo!

Really impressive! The hitboxes seem to be a little wonky in places (I wanted that hot dog so badly, I also generally want a hot dog very badly now), but it was a ton of fun!

Funny dialogues. An intriguing situation.Weapons and hotdogs - my favorite combination.

The special effects would make the fight easier. You may want to reduce the complexity of the first two fights to improve the learning curve.

Got to the shark (with, presumably, laser beams) so far. Fun. I haven't played this style of game before, so I guess I'm learning something about the genre, too. :)

Thanks BloodJohn. We tried to make the fight with the microwave very easy. However like most (almost all games) we didn't have the time to flesh out the fight animations...well any animations really :) But some dialog would have been useful on the first battle. I wanted to have both the phaser and the crossbow to introduce the player to the failing tech, but i can see how it adds to the confusion too.

Thanks, Brian. This genre is new to me too. The team seemed familiar with it so I went along with the game design, but it took me a while.

Spoiler alert: you need full-ish health, 3 rocks and a spear to defeat the shark.
