For some reason it was often that I would spawn somewhere unsafe (right on the top) after getting hit somewhere at the bottom and as a result - instant death even with 2 hearts. Plus Bats in underground seemed to hit me twice for some reason too (maybe also wrong spawn). Would love some immunity timer for such occasion. Couple of seconds would do so you can escape whatever it is actually about to hit you while you spawned and still disoriented.
Overall liked the concept a lot. Quite nice difficulty raise, though checkpoint or couple (thinking about after you reach goddess) would be great!
The music sounds nice and fits the overall vibe of the game. The character designs are really charming. In order to improve the look of the game, you should have the same scale (1pixel = 1cm for example) for every pixel on screen. Everything would be more cohesive that way and hightlight your animations, which work really well.
This one is a really good entry!
* Hint to use WASD made me think there is no jump in this game. I spent some time playing before finding out you can jump using space.
* Text sometimes has the some color as background, so I was unable to read that entering door is on E and had to mash through my keyboard.
* Hermes sometimes spawns outside the screen (already mentioned in other comment).
* Several times I jumped into abyss but it turned out that there is a platform like half a screen under the actual screen.
