made by CantThinkOfAName for Ludum Dare 53 (JAM)

DeliverOrDieScreenshot.pngWelcome to a 8 bit world where the entire world has been flooded with spikes! It is almost impossible to survive and yet you still have to work as a courier.

Your job is to deliver 10 boxes to 10 random people, and not die in the process, however, there are various different traps such as spikes, bigger spike boulders that follow you, cannons that shoot spikes, spike walls, and various other death traps.

Will you be able to deliver all 10 boxes?

CONTROLS: WASD or ARROW KEYS to move the player

The player always points towards the mouse cursor

Press Z to change camera mode

Music will not begin playing until you click on the screen

TIPS: The hands of the player nor the box form part of the players hitbox, and can be hit by spikes without any problems

Very fun little game. Probably the longest I've played a game jam title. Very simple, but effective. I personally really like danmakus.

Simple concept executed really well. Went from "ahh this is easy" to "oh it gets tough after you've delivered about 5" pretty quickly!

8 is my best so far but I might pop back for another try soon.

Cool clear graphic style, smooth gameplay, lots of fun! Would be cool to see different sized/shaped packages to really force players to use the rotation mechanic. "Pivot! Pivot!"

Wow, simple yet addictive. I really enjoyed how the game goals were clear without any explanations (I had to take a peek at controls in the description though). Every next delivery was a bit farther making it harder to navigate through the obstacles. Sound was also completing the game. Very strong submission, great job!

I enjoy these types of small, simple, quick games! You don't need to figure anything out and just enjoy the process. Game was not very hard, but difficulty rise after each delivery was a nice progress to see :)

I love this game! it's really difficult but in a fair way, when I die I know it's because of myself and not bad design, you really did a good job designing enemies and obstacles, the music is also pretty nice, I think it would've helped to have 3 colors instead of 2. 1 for background 1 for enemies and 1 for packages and people, but otherwise the game is really enjoyable I had a lot of fun!

Cool little game. I felt the movement was a bit clunky on KB, I think it's probably a better experience on controller.

Quite nice, although I will say the end starts to drag on a little bit. Since the game fully restarts upon dying, I think it would be better to make the sections slightly shorter but more difficult (except the big bullets, which I think already move fast enough)

Overall I like it though!

Quite liked this one, the difficulty scaling was very satisfying and I liked how it just gradually upped the chaos. Though perhaps the boxes and recipients should have a dash of colour? I found myself trying to hug the first turret I saw even though I didn't have a box in hand. Cool game, kudos.

Nice work! A simple game that does one thing well.

I liked the music, it fit really well with the frentic pace. The graphics were simple but effective, though I would second the comments made above about how colour would really have elevated things. Maybe the game could start off in black and white, as it does now, but each new enemy introduced could be a different bright colour -- instant visual feedback of the difficulty ratchet.

It would have been nice to have an extra life or two, but maybe I just need to git gud. A concept that could be interesting is if the first hit caused the player to drop their package, and then it skittered across the floor, forcing them to chase after it.
