Be as rough as you want, its my first jam, still have a lot to learn. Time management was a big problem, hence the nonexistent polish or actual sfx

you know what, this isn't half bad for your first game, I liked the enemy variation and how you can't shoot in a direction unless you're walking towards it which adds a level of difficulty especially with the ranged enemies, there is room for improvement especially with the art style, but there is a gameloop in there and it works! nice work, for your first game you should give yourself a pat on the back, welcome to the beautiful and frustrating world of game jams!

Thought the reset of the direction of the player shooting if no keys were pressed a bit annoying, otherwise I really liked the game. Enemies were interesting and movement was good.

Hey decent entry. Would definitely benefit from adding more enemy variation or faster box enemies to give you a real reason to shoot them. Otherwise the player can just kite them for the most part. However, understandable with the time crunch. Great job!

The intro card was very funny, I really enjoyed it. the shooting direction would be improved if it "remembered" the last direction you were facing before taking your hands off the directional keys. The beginning rooms were pretty trivial but the final room was fun and challenging. I also thought the character and game moved at a pleasant pace, staples were zippy and punished you for standing still. Maybe you could make it so all enemies have to be killed before moving onto the next room? Just an idea to make the letter enemies more integrated into progression. Nice job!

Nice game, like as "office employee nightmare", he-he.
Control is bit hard (I think, with mouse shooting it will be better), but I think it's the part of hardcore.
Graphic is funny. =)
Good job!

Nice game! Since you are asking for feedback, I think I would have gone with more a 'twin stick' shooter as they say where you shoot towards the mouse. I found the shooting to be unnecessarily frustrating because I couldn't shoot along diagonals and I could only shoot in the direction I was moving.

A couple of Quality of Life things you could implement next time is just a simple pause menu or a way to exit the game with the escape key.

As for art I think the art was pretty good and the music was good if not slightly repetitive. All in all really good for a first jam game.

For a first time it's playable ! Not to hard and not too easy ! Maybe a couple of things can be added to enhance the gameplay :
- minimap to see where to go (actually i have to be along wall to see exit coridor)
- Indicator of taking damage (make sprite visible on/off rapidely for example, or add red filter on it)
- A little of background object
- a travel at the begin to know the global directions to go (or an arrow in the good direction)

But it's largely playable !
For me the main things in Game Jam:
- If you are tired, sleep, even a little 😉 It can boost your productivity!
- Make the simplest prototype possible, the most basic! and improve the gameplay by adding elements or adding mechanics later.
- Make the code as fast as possible (possibly dirty), you may create bugs but they are not directly visible and should not have too much impact on the gameplay
- Depending on the game jam, you can prepare some things like export options... project files, anything external to the game, but you have to check the rules before doing it.
- Consider using a template like the singleton (very useful for creating a game manager, for scene changes, gameplay or mechanics).

I hope these little things are usefull for your next time ! You did it, well done 😁 !

Oh and if you not have any sfx, you can disable the sound score in your game page 😉

Great story. When I saw the letter from the boss, I said to myself - wow, that escalled quickly.

I hate that I still have to press WASD, otherwise my character just stares down and I still have to move. I even miss the end game button. The music is a bit repetitive, but not terrible

Other than that, it was fun to play. I'd like to play it a little longer. Maybe I will :)

Simple game, but fun. I liked the oldschool graphics. Good job on making it to the end

Very simple and very fun, everything that a jam game should contain.
However I did find it a bit difficult due to one issue, when I stop moving my character automatically starts looking down thus making the envelopes shoot down.
But overall, a good experience.

Good simple gameplay which works and does what you expect immediately - that in an of itself is a big win for your first entry!

The music's a little repetitive, could use a better melody there perhaps.

Sprite art's great, overall a solid game

Welcome to the world of game jams! This is much better than most people's first game in that it actually plays like a video game and not a broken disaster.

The more games you make the easier it becomes to predict how long it'll take you to complete specific tasks, which makes time management easier. My advice is to spend more time planning and to make sure you get enough sleep during the jam. It might be fun to treat this like a marathon and try to pull all-nighters working non-stop, but that never leads to better results. I did that my first couple of jams, and can vividly remember staring at the computer at 4am being completely unable to follow any of the code I wrote.

Pretty good game, especially for your first time. Even though there were only 3 enemy types, it felt like there was variety. Wish I could keep my aim to be the last location I was moving, rather than the character look down when you stop moving. Attacks going through walls and being able to run past enemies made the game pretty easy. Knowing what way you had to go or having a map would be a nice addition. Also locking the player in rooms until all enemies are defeated could add some extra challenge and tension. A couple more sounds for attacks would also go a long way, but the music was pretty decent and added enough to the experience. Overall good work, and I enjoyed playing it!

Fun little game! I really feel like it would benefit with a tiny bit more juice! Like some score points when you kill an enemy or maybe a timer to add some pressure or something. But this is just me nitpicking! A solid entry my dude!

Good work!

Fun game. Resetting derection of the player is an issue
