Becasse against the depths by Norah
Welcome to the Barracuda archipelago!
For every night when a full moon shines above the archipelago, unspeakable horrors rise up from the depths of the sea. Led by a savage hunger, they strike everything that dares come near their teeth or tentacles.
Fortunately, there is Josette. Bearing the burden of the years that have passed, but also the sacred knowledge, with her grimoire, on how to prevent the attacks of these nightmare fuelled monsters.
Yet she does not use any cannons or harpoons, nor does she cast spells or curses.
For there is one thing Josette is absolutely sure of: a good meal can soften even the hardest of stone hearts.

I'm not sure if it was because I have a 4k display, but the text was all so small, and the recipe book text was also hard to read because the font was so thin!
The overall idea of the gameplay sounds fun, you have to check the monster and then fill the ingredients.
It was frustrating not being able to see the monster while looking at the recipe book though, because the look is important and I had constantly to go back and forth (at some point I was lost on how to exit the book and clicked on menu instead).
Also I think that the order should have not mattered, it just make it more complex for the small game that it is. I think without the order you would have still presented your idea very well and it would have worked better for a game made out of a jam. Don't be afraid that it will be too easy, for a jam game like this it's better that the game just flows!
Overall I have one question: when you expand this game, make more locations and monsters to feed, let me know when you'll be selling it on Steam cause I will buy it :D
Your Art was quite good, your music was fine but it got old a bit quickly.
This game deserves more ratings, and I will invite my friends to try it out and leave a rating for you.:heart:
@soulreviews @tyler-m @t-c @maxi1324 @wolfier Thanks for your feedbacks, we'll try to improve for a future jam !
@toccio94 Yes, some other people struggled to read the recipes book because we didn't think of different resolutions, and also we realized too late that the monster was no more visible at the "cooking" step. You're right for the order of the ingredients, in fact we didn't succeed to keep the game working no matter the order, so yes, it's a bit strange and frustrating. Thank you for this complete feedback !
@kanity That's so nice, thank you so much for your feedbacks :heart: ( We really had fun making this game so maybe we will continue it :thinking: )
@yuriscat Thank you, so nice of you :smile: I'm going to check your game too !
While the music was exactly on theme with the aesthetic of the game, I wish it were more interesting to listen to. I felt the phrasing was a bit too short and the repetition began to be a little much. However, even though I wish the music was more interesting, the story and the gameplay were rewarding enough to make this game stand out.
Thank you for making this and sharing! It was a joy to play!
