The graphics are nice- I ended up finding a settlement and giving some food and water along the way. I wasn't sure what to do from there- I would say if you keep working on this game, you'll want to put some points of interest along the routes that players and likely to go- I ended up walking through a lot of open desert. I wanted to see what Sanity did but I didn't figure it out.

@yossarian Yeah, the Sanity meter was tied into the medication supply at the last minute. When you reach the Sanity threshold your health starts to decrease. Currently there is no way to increase stats. However, you can decrease Sanity by finding the Refugee that needs medication. If you give them medication you regain Sanity.

Nice jam, the 'Sign Here' UI button was real charming. The controls threw me for a second as it's WASD but always in the direction of the camera? I think it would feel nicer if it was one scheme or the other. Voice acting on the NPCs was a nice surprise and so was stumbling across the settlement :slight_smile:

I appreciated the idea behind the game and the kind, wholesome atmosphere it created. However, I did find myself wandering for a while without encountering any settlements or clear objectives, which made the game feel a bit aimless. Additionally, I found the controls a bit confusing at first, since the character seemed to move in the direction he was facing rather than responding to my four directional inputs. Despite these challenges, I see the effort put into creating a unique and heartwarming experience. Keep up the good work!

I ended up walking for 5 minutes straight, finding nothing and getting stuck outside the edge of the map

So I fed and watered 2 NPCs. Ran around until then leather on my shoes ran out.

So, mini-map, more NPCs, add a monster or two. But all in all it wasn't bad

I had the same experience as @its-capp. According to other comments there are NPC that you could find, but I did not find any. Graphics were nice, but the lack of instructions/guidance/pointers was lackluster. Also there were no sound.

ooh this game is really hard to navigate, I think the consept is good, and the top down camera reminds me a lot of DarkWood but I feel like the gameplay could use some improvements or maybe a tutorial, it's not clear where I should go one I finish an assignment, and the text at the start is quite long to read, the "sign here" is a good idea instead of a simple button, this isn't bad for a jam game but it could use some tweaking here and there

I tested the game on a Windows 11 and I don't have any songs.
When we start it says we can open a map to help but I don't find the key to open it so I start running all around the map searching for a camp.
But after 5min running event if all my stats are at 0 I found this but I can't interact with the NPC.

It's an interesting approach to the gamjam theme. You've got a good prototype!

So your doc in-game mentions a map, but I don't know how to reach that. Can you put the controls somewhere?

I also was lost without a map, I pressed every button on my keyboard but didn't find a map. So I ended up walking around until all my stats emptied without finding anything. The world felt very barren, it would be nice if there were some decorations around the place, such as the tree at the spawn location. But apart from the issues, it seems like there are some cool ideas in this, with more dev time it could be very interesting!
