Pizza Survivors by Johnny Turbo

Pizza Survivors is a casual action game developed for the LudumDare 53 game jam. You play as a lone pizza delivery guy who must fend off creatures using the only weapons at your disposal: PIZZA TOPPINGS!
The pizza guy attacks all on his own, you just need to move around and collect coins as you defeat enemies. Level up to boost your attacks!
This game was developed by Johnny Thompson of the Turbo Makes Games YouTube channel and used Unity's Data-Oriented Technology Stack and their Entity Component System.
Matthew Bryant of the Logic Projects YouTube channel created a similar version of the same game using the Bevy Game Engine. Find out more on their YouTube channels linked below!

Aside from that I really enjoyed my time playing your game :)
Also, love your YT channel!
edit: Oh I wanted to add that I experienced some small hiccups in frame rate towards the start of the game. Strangely enough it went away after a while.
And yeah not sure what those frame drops are about, I was seeing those on my machine too
Fun!
Gotta say, why spend coins on anything other than the masterful Cheese Whip. At level four I think you can survive anything. And I was kind of thinking at :30s left "wow this was actually kind of easy" and then wham. nice, Mr. Cheese saved me though I was able to make an opening.
One of the the thing that makes the axes useful in VS is that they fall back down, so even if they go off in a wild direction, at least they are going to be going vaguely downward so you can line up a shot. Like @carkh said, it didn't feel like it ever hit anything. I'm sure it did, but spending my first point in the game on it made me loose once there were enemies all around me.
The different weapon types were cool. The random direction pepperoni one felt a bit underwhelming though and using that first it quickly became apparent that was a terrible idea. The other two weapons work well though.
Some music or sound effects for hitting enemies would've made it even more satisfying.
This game was pretty fun! I really enjoyed running around picking up weapons and attacking them :D ahahah
Gameplay was smooth and I didn't have any issues with the controls :)
Was missing some SFX, but I guess that is a time constraint form the game jam. Also, I don't think it fits the theme much ... but to be fair, I think it is much better for it to be a fun game, like it is :P
