Death Delivery by mackelio

made by mackelio for Ludum Dare 53 (JAM)

Death Delivery is a funny game that puts you in the shoes of Death, armed with nothing but a trusty scythe. Set in a simple street with an energetic coffee shop, a bustling gym, a busy office, and a lively karaoke bar—you must find your targets among the crowd.

The challenge lies in identifying the specific individuals you're meant to eliminate while avoiding innocent casualties. Your memory is fading, but don't worry—helpful tips will be provided to guide you towards your intended targets.

But be careful! Killing innocent bystanders will result in failure, and you'll find yourself out of job. Can you remain focused and deliver death without harming the innocent? Only time will tell.

If you have problems with the framing of the game, try playing it on itch, download it as an exe or scroll down and press the fullsize button.

Game didn't load on the LD page, so had to play on itch. Love the concept! Sometimes I accidentally hit a wrong character, or a character that just looked like an order for some minor details. Good job!

It's a silly little game but it would be a bit more fun if you had some none clothing related distinction between female and male people. It kinda would give the player a small ego boost after being able to deliver with little to no hints revealed. To compensate, I think it would be great to reset the hint count after every correct kill

Pretty fun game, love the sound fx and the little karaoke band, somebody should wake up the drunk guy before he gets a cold and its his turn to be delivered, one thing i found annoying was having to wrestle control of the camera but otherwise a great game.

Pretty cute game, played a bunch of tries. I was a bit bummed that I kept getting the same 4/5 targets, because I liked a lot the various hints and I wanted to see more

Good job!

Nice jam game, nice riddles, I had to see every person to check if they could match the riddle. I played twice. Good thing you have one more tip when you kill the wrong person.

That was pretty fun, I like that you have to play detective and find which people match. Also promotes discovering what is happening around the map while teaching gameplay. Great job!

Fun little game, played a bunch of times. Was a little disappointed that I kept getting the same targets. The hints were nice and cryptic, and quite funny.. Good job!

Fun game ! Some hints are very clever :D I was sad that I kept getting assigned the same targets after a while. The music fits in a funny way, solid work, well done !

So far, the best interpretation of the theme I've seen. The core concept is strong and fun to play.

Randomization is nice, but there doesn't seem to be that many targets available, as during a few playthroughs I kept getting the same targets many times. It would also be nice if the area was closed off with some graphics (just slap some buildings there - there can be no way out ).

The game is short and sweet, definitely invites you to replay. Some more target variety, some moody ambience (or quite the opposite - circus music!) would add a lot.

Target descriptions are hilarious and just complicated enough to have a short detective but satisfying detective task to fulfill. Also liked the graphihs though a different wallpaper around the play area could make it a little more immersive.

I had a bug where the camera was continously moving to rigt horizontaly all the time. Seemed very polished to me otherwise.

Definitely didn't expect a detective game in which you play as the reaper, great idea. The clue mechanic after you kill someone wrongly is a great addition. Great work on the design guys!

Very fun game, wish there was more targets, honestly with different levels and different people I could see me play this for a while. For some reason though in the browser version my camera kept drifting to the right abit and the sensitivity was kinda weird. The sound when you move was a bit annoying in my opinion, but everything else was really enjoyable!

This was a really interesting take on the theme and I loved it! I had some problems with the bleeding from fingers hint because nobody's actual hands were bleeding, but it was on the seat. Other than that I had a really fun time playing it despite it being really short, a time limit would be nice for an extra challenge of trying to hurry and complete your task. Overall really fun game! Keep up the good work!

This was a fun game to replay! It would have been cool if you had randomized the pool of people so that you could experience more variety easier. Either way, I enjoyed the process of exploring the map to find different people who match!

Very nice entry! Love the quite innovative approche to the theme

Honestly i would be quite cool game when developed further! With more randomized people positions and quirks so it becomes more replayable, new levels would help too, maybe some other events or activies!

And random though: What if it would be multiplayer where you compete with other reapers to get as many targets as you can, add to this some powers like: changing someones look, adding traps, helping people espace, or other boosts and i imagine it beging quite fun with friends (bigger map and people would be nessesary in this case)

Good replayability! There are problems with the mouse sens, it is too fast. The text is very small in places. The concept and presentation are very good. Well done!

Nice one! I really like the idea and what love to deliver dead to even more persons. Would be really cool to have a larger level or more of them (but I know, this is not possible in the limited time).

Really cool game, though some more targets would help make the investigations more engaging. Still though, really great concept and very well done!

A bit of missed potential here. Would have loved to have more target variety. It also seems a bit odd that targets never move.

Overall a fun little game if you don't account for replayability!

Short but sweet. As others mentioned, I wish you had the time to put more content into this, but what's here works well. Perhaps multiple levels if procedural generation would take too much time to implement.

I'm not sure why but my character was constantly rotation to the right without me even touching mouse. This was very annoying to me.

Otherwise it was quite fun to look for quirks of different people and kill them!
