Behind The Scenes

This is Quanta Studios 6th game jam! And this was a special one, it's our first in-person game jam! We made the majority of the audio for this game ourselves, including all the humourous voices lines - but unfortunately we didn't make the music, hence us opting out of this category.

Known Issues

  • UI can disappear sometimes when you fullscreen at the wrong time. Restart the game and try again to fix.

  • If you're going too fast, sometimes a house is counted as a miss before the newspaper hits.

Beautiful visuals, and the concept is fun! The door hitboxes seem to be super unforgiving though. I would have probably practiced a bit to get better, but annoyingly, I kept falling through the floor (entering an infinite fall)... sometimes immediately, sometimes a few houses down the road.

@ditam thanks for playing! That's unfortunate that you kept falling through the floor, we didn't see that issue on our end! We'll add a bugfix version ASAP!

I really enjoyed the balance of the game loop. It was simple but challenging. Everything worked as intended. I thought it played great and looked great. What more could I ask for?

Great job on the game! I had a lot of fun playing it. The game mechanics were simple and easy to understand, and the art was really nice. I also loved the funny sound effects, they made the game even more enjoyable.

One thing I would suggest is to make tossing the newspaper further spend some stamina, as it would make the game more challenging and strategic. Additionally, having houses that don't require always throwing the newspaper as far as possible could add some variety to the gameplay.

Overall, great work on the game! Keep it up.

Love the main character. His voiceover is spot on haha. Clear and easy to understand game loop!

Love the 3d graphics. Fun game! For some reason I think it didn't always throw a newspaper every time I clicked, this might be bug or I might be doing something wrong?

I LIKE THE IDEA of movement like pedals, but i get a bug that my controls of mouse are reversed and it was very hard to take a shot, maybe it was intentional but i feel it just unintuitive. I also liked the mood of the game, that is, the music and visuals complemented each other well.

@chesschaser That's weird! Are you clicking and dragging? It should do it every time! Make sure you're clicking inside the game window!

@gmiss I appreciate the feedback! The inverted controls are on purpose, it's meant to feel a bit like a slingshot - we tried it the other way around, but at the time it felt worse to us. However, I take the feedback on board for sure and we'll discuss it as a team :)

Ok the game was really funny. I love the humour and that you can upgrade. I also find the throwing very successful. At the beginning I had moved up and was surprised how to get to the houses. Then I understood that you pull like a slingshot. The best run was 20$ with rocket propulsion :D It was really fun. In the short second I find it more than successful.

Funny game. If i continue playing it'll really become a challenge to throw papers on high speed. So it really high risk - high reward game!

Funny reincarnation of classic paperboy with some gta-like cycling mechanics and simple progression. I like it.

This is a great entry!
Love that it's easy to get the hang of, and there is progression.
Graphics and music are great.
I love the slingshot mechanic, but got a bit frustrated with hardware mouse causing some dud shots. Not a bad thing, but required some getting used to.
Good luck!

Moody fun game). Throwing papers would be fun if made much easier (say, using the aim cursor) and letting the bike roll by itself, but overall idea makes this quite an interesting ride. Cute sfx!

Graphics were great. The frog riding the bicycle had some really great animation. I also laughed out loud when I missed a house and heard "WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!"

The aiming was really difficult for me to get a hang of. I did like the pedaling controls.

Me personally, I love frogs!! So that's already a win in my book!! The controls were initially a little wonky but I sorta got used to it after playing a bit! I love the graphics and the animations theyre so so silly and in general this game is really fun!

I have a lot of fun playing it ! Skill learning feels organic. Well done mix use of keyboard and mouse, first playthrough I look like playing Angry Birds, then it's Starcraft haha
Love the crocodile biking animation

Cool game!

Both visuals and audio felt really goofy. And I just loved the pedalling mechanic!

The only downside for me as a very bad aim was nessesety to hit a porch perfectly, so it would have been nice to be able to choose easier mode.

Nonetheless - great game!

i like many things about this game, in particular how controls seems super hard at first but after a few run we begin to master them and how you implemented all that funny sound effects. the way to throw newspaper is good, this must be super fun to play with a controller or a phone! really good job!

Nice game, I like that your personal skill is important. It hard to start, but then it becomes pretty addicting.
Just one thing, I don't see the text ingame (the timer and earnings).

This is very engaging! I really found myself not wanting to stop playing for a long time. Pedaling movement + throwing on target felt really satisfying. And you always had a reason to do another run, as you have stuff to buy from the shop.

Throughout a run I always found myself wanting to see how much time is left and how much money each house brings, though. But it's just a small detail.

Very fun game, unlocked all the upgrades and after a bit of practice it was super easy to hit the doors, sometimes I was going too fast and the doors were counted as a miss, although the paper hit em afterwards, but I still had a lot of fun. Also I found the slingshot approach to be very intuitive and well done

Extremely charming!! Takes a little bit to get used to throwing the papers but then you become a god. The town becomes your play-thing until you buy everything there is. Super addicting, creative mechanics, beautiful graphics and I ADORE the voices of the old ladies by the houses kjdjkd. Overall superb entry

The sound of despair from the frog due to my poor performance was enough to make me love this game. The concept is simple but effective. Great contribution!

Listen son, 20 minutes ago I was like you. Earning 1–2 buck for a ride, low stamina, poor performance. But look at me now, the king of newspaper delivery in the town, quack! Just believe in yourself and get a mouse before start.

Great entry. Love how every run I got better in it and upgrade system. The graphics and music are stunning.

Very well done. The game has almost no weak points.
The game really looks very solid.
The voice acting amused), visually everything is also worked out, the gameplay is fascinating (until I bought all the pieces, I did not calm down)). The only thing that got in the way a little was the message about the last 15 seconds, but against the backdrop of the pluses of the game, this is absolutely insignificant.

Amazing work!
Very fun. Upgrades keep me playing.

I think that additional sound would improve this when the player is low on stamina to signal that it is close to exhaustion. When aiming, it is hard to focus on the stamina bar simultaneously.

Other think to improve is maybe to increase distance that is triggering money loss. When ahciving high speed, I was loosing money before paper landed on door.

Great job!

Incredible entry, so well polished and really fun. It would be nice to see what the upgrades do before buying them and sometimes the door hitboxes felt very harsh but otherwise incredible entry, great job!

The amount of detail in this game is mindblowing!
I have my reservations about the throwing mechanic, people expecting the paper to hit their entryway, not accepting it on the doorstep felt a bit odd. Perhaps if the throw indicator had less of a vertical curve..
It took me a hot minute to figure out I didn't have to account for momentum with the indicator, and the game became a lot easier after that. Successfully throwing the paper was more a matter of consistency on drawing the same angle over and over, which does highlight a limitation for me.
Loved the voices!

Great job overall, I had fun playing this!
