The Pharaoh's Soul by Chronodrax

[raw]
made by Chronodrax for LD36 (JAM)
The Pharaoh's Soul suddenly awakens, though not quite as he imagined.
Learn how to move in your new shape, and find a way to leave this world.

Commands : mouse
- left click : move to the center of the wall in front of you
- right click : undo
- your reach is limited; move to a new canopic jar to set it as a new start point

---------------

Jam version:
- Only 1 level available due to lack of time...
- No sound FX :c
Known bugs :
- Last canopic jar in level 1 bugs and prevents going to level 2 (which is not finished anyway)
- Wrong soul/camera position when going back on main menu

...I'd advise you to wait 1 more day before playing it but if you want to test this half-finished half-broken jam version then please, be my guest :)

I'll upload post-jam linux/mac/web versions when I've corrected the main bugs.

I like the interesting mechanic, it was a little finicky at times though. Maybe if you could choose how far off the wall you move to (w/ the scrollwheel) or having your position be on between points on 2 walls would be interesting as well.
Making the canopic jars bigger, stand out more, and away from other jars would make them feel more like important checkpoints and less like scattered asthetics.
For future levels the you would want to have a difficulty curve and obstacles or supporting mechanics such as moving platforms, needing to hit certain jars in a certain order for a puzzle room, range-boosting power-ups, 1-use jars, x-ray vision or something to see where the next jar is, mirrors to reflect your movements, key and lock puzzles, or whatever else you can think of.
These are just some ideas I had, it's an innovative concept.
The artwork and music were good too. Nice job!
