Taxulator3000 by Rolly

Welcome to a city where taxes have been ignored for far too long.
As the new Tax Collector, it’s your duty to restore financial order — one citizen at a time!
Learn the rules, observe the people, calculate their dues, and make sure everyone pays their fair share.
Tutorial
Start by checking the Taxing Rules Record to understand how taxes are calculated.
You'll want to find information about salaries and market taxes as soon as possible. Check the Work Office and the Restaurants for that.
Then, gather information on each citizen — where they live, what they eat, and where they work — to fill out their personal record before collecting.

Controls
- WASD – Move
- E – Interact
- Mouse / Numpad – Use the Taxulator3000
- Mouse (drag) – Move records and the Taxulator3000 around the screen
- Right Click – Unpin a dragged record
Tips
- Before the game starts, time is frozen; but you may still observe some records on your screenn and try out the Taxulator3000, don't waste this opportunity to have a look!
- Follow citizens between locations and take notes when they enter a building — that’s how you learn their activities.
- Arrange records on your screen to build your perfect taxing workflow.
- Citizens will refuse to pay more than what they owe, but they’ll happily pay less.
- The goal is to ask for an amount as close as possible to the real tax.
- Once a citizen’s correct amount is figured out, there’s no need to tax them again.
Good luck, and have fun!

Okay, so big wall of text in lieu of a video:
Playing the game in ultrawide honestly worked out fine. I wish there was a non-fullscreen alternative (I think that contributed to my OBS hotkey not starting the recording?), but the fullscreen didn't ruin anything. No text was off-screen or anything.
My ADHD brain took way too long to figure out what to do, and how to gain information. I also pent slike, a whole day just moving upwards off the map, which didn't help. heh.
On my first run I scored zero points. I learned some names, and figured out around day 9 how to get their jobs and stuff.
On my second run, I actually did get the full info of three people, and taxed them correctly. I got around 7000 points, but I forgot the full number. (I *really* wish the video recorded...) I started panicking around day 8 and ended up under-taxing many people, but I scored pretty well.
I wish there was some ambient noise or music. Maybe a day-long loop, where you could know people's schedules by hearing a motif in the melody or something, that would be cool.
Nice game!
super cool game I loved it <3
The main character’s animations were a real delight =)
I think this game feels more like a job than a game. It's fun watching a simulation of a town, and it's fun watching animation of the tax collector. But all the tasks you do are collecting information, calculation and presenting your results. The game lacks decision making.
Maybe if you collected the taxes too well, the people would lose the homes and go live on the streets, or change their diets to something less expensive. That could enable some decision making I think.
Also, I found it difficult to read long text messages because they're in all capitals. Maybe you could have chosen a different font that's easier to read.
