About the game
The game was created in 48 hours for compo. I used only my voice to make the sound, and wanted to keep the feeling of DIY in the game, hope it's not too annoying.
How to play
Choose bait
Throw string (the father on the scale you hit, the deeper the string will go)
Wait for fish to start biting
Pull the string! (it is precision game, not how fast you click)
Hint on strategy
Look here only if you are out of ideas!
Worms allow to catch Stardiva and Bubblington, Stardiva allows to catch Beauty-Poppy apart from all that worms allow, Beauty-Poppy allows to everything.
Your strategy should be to fish for Stardiva, use Stardiva to fish Beauty-Poppy, and then fish the last two species. Good luck!

- Unity
- Libraries:
- DOTween - saver for animations
- UniTasks - can't imagine doing scripts a different way
- TMPEffects - easy to use text effects. Pretty sure there are better solutions, but I couldn't find any. Let me know if you have something in stash.
- Procreate + Gimp
- Audacity

At first I thought it might get annoying, but I eventually I started thinking "maybe the fisher is making those sounds" which really added to the vibe lol
I sadly couldn't finish the game because eventually the bigger fish stopped taking the bait and I got a bit frustrated because the fish bait got depleted even when I aborted the trys :(
Great game though! And great atmosphere :D
A bit more control on how / where to throw would have been nice. I understand the DIY feel you wanted for the game, but for now, it still feels a bit too bare ( what kind of precision do we have while reeling, for instance? It took me a while to understand that it was a precision task).
I like the aesthetic and the sfx are funny, nice entry!

I am so sorry you couldn't finish the game, unfortunately there was a bug with a fish spawner, which prevented the fishes you can use as bait to spawn towards the end of the game.
I fixed the bug now, so in case you have this itching feeling to complete your paper fish collection for some reason you are very welcome to play again!
I enjoyed matching fish chains.To get rarer ones.
It would be great if the book showed which fish bite which bait. Like a branching tree. That way, I could set goals and work toward them more consciously.
Add a link to the Itch page that leads to the LD page. I first found Itch, and then I had to search manually on LD.
upd: Oh, I saw you have a fish catching diagram. I think adding that to the game would be great. You can even skip the outline so it's hard to tell which fish are which, but the player would still be able to see the entire chain to track the progression.
Yeah, I only thought about diagram after I published the game and now I think it will be unfair to improve the game beyond bugfixing.
This is a lesson for my future LDs though!
Definitely enjoyed both audio and visual side of things, and text effects were a nice touch. Well done ^^

Чилловая и расслабляющая игрушка. Играл с мобильного телефона, получил софтлок на этом скрине, благо, закрыл всех рыбок кроме самой маленькой. Думаю, что момент на реакцию можно сделать попроще, мне было сложно после рабочего дня. Но общее впечатление от игры расслабляющее и медитативное
