The Honorable Hunt of Sir Frogbert the Bold by DazyLude
Take the role of the renowned Sir Frogbert the Bold on his honorable quest to slay the monsters plaguing the lands! - сollect treasures left by other adventurers (mostly their bones, though), - find more powerful equipment (or buy it from the trustworthy capybaras!), - slay the vile Sir Quacklet Collectoad, corrupted by his greed (and numerous evil artifacts in his possession)!
CONTROLS
- Esc or P to pause
- Mouse for everything else
GAMEPLAY
- Collect items from the ground by clicking on them.
- Sit back and relax (or use your equipment) while sir Frogbert fights numerous slimes populating the lands.
- Buy the shield and time your blocks to destroy your enemies...
- or overpower them with the shear force of your equipment!
DEVELOPER NOTES
- retreating works always, even mid-fight
- dying is usually not worth it, as you lose all you equipment
- be mindful of what you collect. Losing a shield midfight because of overfilled inventory can be devastating!
- equipment doesn't stack: if you have 2 good helmets and 3 rusty ones, you'll receive 1 bonus from the good helmet. Swords work in the same way
- if you struggle with timing of blocks, there are visual cues starting before the damage is dealt.
- successful block is indicated by an audio cue

Great visual style and cohesion, I did not have audio unfortunately but I think that was a mistake on my behalf. I liked the blocking mechanic, I would have liked to see a counter mechanic as well for those critical hits. Critical hits in general! It's a good foundation to build on for sure.
Akshtually, the shopkeeper is supposed to be a capybara (they are related species but anyway, LOL). He's there due to a somewhat obscure Russian meme with a capybara saying "*I assure you*, you can trust me with your firearms" which we used as a placeholder for the shopkeeper and in the tutorial :)
Sound issues wise, it's probably a bug due to Godot's way of handling sounds in web exports. I had issues with polyphonic audio not behaving correctly before (it was ignoring the audio bus setting, to be exact), and hoped that the crutch I used here is fine. However a friend of mine who I shared the game with had a similar issue as you (which we assumed was due to the ISP shenanigans, but oh well).
Only thing that wasn't very clear to me was that the armor and sword you pick up actually help... which might just be on me.
@borodaolen To be honest, those menus are a bit confusing themselves, we should probably replace them with some transitions altogether :/
@jvdwijk True, the game doesn't communicate how armor and weapons work at all. I thought for a bit about displaying player stats in a separate spot on the screen, but the game was designed for this site's embedded window size, and the space feels quite cramped already :D
Really cool game! I love the art and the strategywhere you need to balance the equipmentand weight. Also like the design that you can run away during the battle which gives quite flexibility
