Crumbled Legs by oxbuddulaj

[raw]
made by oxbuddulaj for Ludum Dare 58 (JAM)

Slight experimental horror, no screamers.

upd: I cleaned up the trash files to reduce the storage size and adjusted some textures here and there – the updated version is available on itch.

Wake up, skeleton warrior. Your sword is stolen long ago, but what's more important -- some adventurous Treasure Collector is going for your head.

You'd better cut and run.

Remember how long ago you've been dead? Be careful with those crispy legs, you damned piece of snow.

How to run: 1. Download the archive .zip 2. Open the archive 3. Run Crumbled Legs.exe

Controls: * WASD - move * E/LMB - interact * SPACE - jump * ESC/P - pause

The graphics were excellent, and the gameplay was just as fun. The music really added to the eerieness, well done!

Your texturing of the walls was good. Gameplay is kinda sketchy. I tried three times and I got stuck all three times.

Not sure why we need to jump but it became frustrating

I really liked the concept of the game. Fun gameplay and good interpretation of the theme. The adventurer is a bit too fast though :/ Good visual style though. The skeleton walk sounds were good. Was cool to have a first person view where I could see my skeletal body.

Very fun idea. Too bad it was not implemented properly though. The restart of the game was missing after game over. The visuals are top notch! Well done.

Interesting concept! The bone collecting felt very difficult to execute but the graphics and art looked great!

Hilarious concept and it’s really fun scrambling to put all your bones back on when you fall apart! Unfortunately it’s very difficult to pick up bones and it’s unclear where you need to stand or where you need point your camera to do it

I liked the vibe and running from the enemy definitely set me on edge. However, I kept getting stuck only being able to jump when I fell inside the dungeon? I'm not sure if that was intentional, and I also couldn't interact with any bones. Rock solid vibe and concept though!

Really cool idea. I eventually managed to beat it after several attempts.
The game seemed quite a bit easier after the second drop. I got all the way to the end the first time I got past that point.
Having to exit and restart the entire game when you get caught is a big problem. Especially since you need to do so a lot.
Having to jump and time it just right to attach your second leg was annoying to get right, and sometimes it felt like the bones were just not equipping. I also managed to end up out of reach of any bones after one drop.

This was such a unique and eerie experience! I really liked the concept of being a fragile skeleton trying to survive while everything feels slightly off. The crunchy sound effects and dark visuals worked perfectly to create a creepy, unsettling mood without needing any jump scares. The idea of collecting and reattaching bones was clever and added tension to the gameplay. I did have some trouble picking up bones and restarting after getting caught, but overall it’s a creative and atmospheric take on the Collector theme. Great work!

The aesthetic was really nice and the game ran really smooth
The enemy literally just slid towards me. unsure if that was intended but it happened.
