I was mashing my keyboard a bit trying to find the correct key to progress through dialogue at the beginning. It looks like right-arrow or clicking on the flashing arrow would work, but the correct answer is Enter. Skill issue on my part, I guess.
Thank you for the feedback! Yeah I can see now how that could be confusing, I will keep that in mind for next time!
I agree with @aquanim - I was lost. Thanks to his comment I could start the game by smashing Enter. Maybe put it to the descriptoon?
I love the artowrok.
I enjoyed the twist at the end—I helped her finish the soup...
@maakole Glad you liked the dropping mechanic! That's where I got the inspiration from!
@gastoon I hadn't thought of it that way haha
If I had any feedback for improvement, the only thing I'd say is that you could have been more ambitious. I get the impression that this high level of polish was possible partly because of your limited scope. I'd be excited to see you push the limits and try to add more content.
I've uploaded a version on itch.io (named compatibility) which uses a different rendering api to draw the game, not sure if that would fix your issue but it might be worth a shot.
Yeah we could have definitely done more! We were unsure at first how much we could accomplish because my friend @zoldanka didn't have much experience with Godot and it's also her first game jam and I hadn't used Godot for about 2 years so we tried to figure out a small scope that we were sure we could accomplish.
It turned out fine in the end and we even had the luxury to take long breaks since the game was ready in about 1.5 days and we spent the rest of the time just making sure everything was polished and felt nice.
Next time we'll definitely increase the scope! We're feeling confident now :D
I wish you opted in the humor category, I would have given you 5 stars ;)
I like that you borrowed the mechanic used in Sonic when she got hit where she dropped her collectables.

I think the "soup music" should have only played when it was "soup time". I was a little confused. Also could have played a reference to the "soup time music" when talking to the grandma to emphasize the "soup truth".
