(Note -- jumping on the bats' heads will work much better for you than attacking them -- for some reason the hitboxes are a bit odd specifically on the bat enemies.)

Controls (keyboard): - Basic Movement -- WASD or Arrow Keys - Jump / double jump -- Space, W, or Arrow Up - Attack -- Enter or Click - Run -- hold Shift - Pause -- Escape

Controls (controller) - Basic Movement -- Left joystick or D-pad - Jump / double jump -- B (xBox) / A (Nintendo), Left joystick, or D-pad - Attack -- A (xBox) / B (Nintendo) - Run -- LB / RB (only in the post-LD version, not the Jam version) - Pause -- Start button / +

I can always respect a boss fight in a jam game!

I do wish the attack hitbox were bigger or clearer. It felt impossible to hit the bats and uncertain when hitting the boss.

This is a such a fun little game! The graphics are wonderfully done, and I appreciate the music and the sound design that went into this!

In terms of balancing, the player's attack seems to be a bit anemic for actually handling enemies, and it looks like I may have accidentally bugged out the boss fight by jumping on the hands. Regardless, the platforming seems quite polished and I would have loved to have been able to play to the end! Great work!

The game looks great! I couldn't figure out what to do for a long time until I figured out there was a double jump, and then everything was great =)

Very cute colour pallete and I love the main character's design. The audio is perfect for the retro platformer aesthetic. The boss fight had very cool mechanics, but I spent too much time running into bats to have enough health for it. Great platformer and I would love to see more boss fights in this style. Well done!

It's decent. It could use a lot more effort for the controls and i had no idea what to do with the boss fight. The art is good though!

I played post jam version and didn't figure out how to damage boss :)
I tried to hit his fists, eyes, then I realised what I could jump on fist, then used it like a platform to jump on tree and then... I apparently fall to the off screen abyss)

Anyway, platformers are challenging genre to make for jam period, especially with boss battles! You did a good job here!

Good game, Pump-kid. I got to phase two of Bumpkin but even though the health bar looked empty he didn't take damage... died once I got off the hands. Funny twist though.

aw the pump-kid is so cute! I like that you combined the theme with Halloween, very fitting, and I feel like it works well. It took me an embarrassing amount of time to figure out there was a double jump, I thought I was missing something. Overall nice game!

Excellent! The action was really satisfying, the boss fight was fun, the graphics were good, and the music was awesome. A stellar entry! One point of note was that at the end of the boss fight, I wasn't sure how to end the fight at first.

Loved it, the visuals and music (especially the boss music) were great. The controls felt very smooth although the double jump was a little finicky to trigger sometimes. Great job!

Great soundtrack and pleasant visuals - especially the pumpkin boss design. Unfortunately, there’s no visual feedback when you hit the mega pumpkin besides the HP bar going down, and the fight feels a bit broken since you can exploit it by standing on the hands.

I like the art and audio! The controlls felt weird for me with the low jump hight and I was totaly lost in the boss fight.

Great visual style. Some of the controls felt a little bit floaty in some sections. I feel like the standard jump could have been a bit higher by default.
The boss fight was a nice addition, however it was a bit easy to cheese by just standing on the hands and never moving again.
Overall great job.

Love the Halloween aesthetic, the main character is very cute and that boss monster is horrifying!
