About the game

It's a nice little puzzle game! There is some sort of nice looking machine, you know, and the issue is that it lacks power. Fortunately, this kind of machines come with internal power beams. So all you need to do is to redirect a beam to collector. Or more beams.. depending how many chevrons the machine have, you need to power up all chevrons (obviously!).

The game has 8 levels, first three are tutorial. But others are simple too, don't worry!

Play it fullscreen.

Controls

  • Just drag a handle of machine part by mouse to rotate or move (handles may be small but if you look at the center of the fidget, you cannot miss it)
  • R ... restart level (it's just there, there is no way you'll ever need it; except some sort of unexpected bug)
  • Esc ... back to the menu but you'll be able to go back to any level you visited from there

Used Tools

  • Godot Engine 4.5
  • Inkscape + Gimp
  • Audacity, Bfxr
  • Bandlab.com

Great concept. Very good. Puzzles keep getting harder and new concepts introduced.

Jirko, as always your puzzle designs are unmatched! This is absolutely brilliant and I suggest you finish this into a full game, because it's very very cool. If you won't get into at least top 25, it's not fair!

It reminds me of the game Opus Magnum. I know it's completely different, but the puzzles, the sound and the entire vibe is very reminiscent of this cool puzzle game.

Seriously, one of the best games I've seen on Ludum Dare.

Solid! Simple mechanics that are quick to grasp but with quite a bit of complexity as the new pieces come in and it looks great!

Nice puzzle game! Felt really well put together and streamlined, some levels had me scratching my head and were fun to figure out. Only critique i can point out is that the interactive elements were a bit hard to locate at first, where you dragged to rotate etc. and maybe needed something to have them stand out more from the other elements. Otherwise, really cool!

I struggled a little at first time with the controls, but shortly understood how it's working, and finally managed to finish all the levels in few time. Arts are sober and make the puzzles understandable at first sight, as I like when it comes for a puzzle game. So: good job!

I really enjoyed this. I think the handles could use something to make them stand out more. The ticking audio is perfect.

I do love a good light refraction puzzle and this is a great example of one! Lovely stuff, great mood and a wonderful feel to it.

This was excellent!

A good balance of easy tutorial puzzles to more and more challenging later ones. And of course as usual perfect graphics and audio to set the mood!

The only minor downside I think was that some of the controls felt a bit off. I often wanted to drag the handles in circles, but it doesn't feel like that was the way they were designed.

Cool game, very polished with solid sounds. I feel like this game can get quite complex later down the line ^^

Have a bit of a bad habit of turning my brains of in all puzzle games if a the steps aren't clear quite early and unfortunately it happened here as well. I don't think the level 2 was supposed to even be hard but something just didn't click and lost interest. The overall style was quite pleasant and fitting which was a nice change of pace with mismatching elements around every corner. Well done overall.

@6knowledge Thanks for your feedback! The first level should work as a tutorial that explains you the main mechanics. Of course it's a game jam so it's not perfect but it should do the trick anyway (at least I thought so). And of course didn't in your case, so I'm curious where was the main problem. Can I ask you, if the issue in level 2 were those rectangular things that blocked the beams? I suppose it wasn't clear enough that they can be moved too? I have a feedback (I agree with) that sometimes, handles for moving things are not clear enough.

Or did you have different issues? Second level should show you that you need to collect the same number of beams as those purple parts (I call them chevrons because it looks like chevrons in Star Gate :) But I explicitly wrote this as a text, so I suppose it wasn't it.

Thanks for your help!

Might be my favorite of the compo so far. Great mood, graphics and audio. I would LOVE to see this as a mobile game.

Super clever puzzle, wow! I love that first levels have this sense of discovery of how to actually play, but later levels are kinda hard, and I've passed them mostly by chance 😅 Sound design and art are great too. Lovely entry!

Ahoj Jirko! Hands down, another game and I am again amazed how you are able to pull off cool puzzle game that feels so polished! The experience is very nice and learning curve is satisfying. Minimalistic yet it feels like a demo of some upcoming comercial puzzle game! Great job !
