Hello there!!

This is my second game, after my debut one on LD57, created by me. After 6 months of sharpening my skills, I am ready to try one more time. I hope you would enjoy this game.

I want you to evaluate my game and make as valuable review as you can. If you like something - I need it to know to become better. If you hate something - tell me. I want to keep grinding and work in games development sector, and need to understand what actually to pay the most time for.

I am up to see your reviews. I need them. Thanks in advance for spending your valuable time on my project :)

Content which I had no time to make:

  • Mini-quests

  • Small puzzles

  • Interaction with Forgotten Remnants

  • Standalone Survivors, which would help / talk / participate in dialogs with player

  • Level System (probably the current state is better for Demo)

Also, in my spare time I am making a real game on Steam - come and check it out :) https://store.steampowered.com/app/3597390/Forsaken_Valley/

I need a bit more of a "game" here.. Is there more to do than walk through the big maze until you find 7 orbs?

I like the sound effects =)

@drikdrok thanks for a comment :) Not sure if you followed the opened path in the end. Currently - only collecting and following the history was only what I had time to implement :) If I would receive enough positive / negative feedback, I will think about polishing it quite enough after the Ludum Dare

Interesting concept...feels like early concept of Flow.

Stunning visuals and immersive atmosphere! While light on traditional gameplay mechanics, the exploration and particle gathering create a unique, contemplative experience. Great execution of the theme!

Do I see meaning where there is none, or is it all fabricated in the first place? Love the audio, and the overall ambiance. I hope you'll keep working on it after, either way I'll jump back in to snag all the orbs once I've spread some time around and rated a few other people / had some time to sleep. Great work!

@threeli thanks for those words :) I want to get some people feedback at first, and then will decide if it makes sense to make this game much much better, because now I am working on my another game which is available to wishlist on Steam :)

I like the atmosphere created with sound. It's a chill experience even though I'm not totally sure whether I found all souls or not after playing through.

@thejackimonster thanks for your time :) There are only 7 souls (I should have marked them with colors, yeah..) And if you collect all of them, you will have a special message in the center of the screen what to do next.

Can you tell me the name of the steam game?
🎤 ImmortalFox

@threeli I have a link on it in the bottom of the page description. Forsaken Valley, but haven't touched it since May. Although, one special person has given me a motivation nuclear bomb, so probably would start developing it again

Really great atmosphere going on here, and a chill way to implement the theme! It was very maze like, and I struggled a bit to find the final path near the grey sphere, but I enjoyed it enough to keep exploring and eventually found it. Perhaps something that helps guide the player to the exit would be a nice addition once all the spheres/souls are collected. Nice work!

I love the atomsphere, but to be more critical the game is *average*, it needs more gameplay to be a *game*.

The most stunning part of the game for me is that, it is made of GameMaker lmao

Wish you a good luck on your steam game!

Really liked the effect of the ball!

I collected all 7 souls, and got a message to go north of where the grey soul was - although I couldn't remember where it was, and everything was maze like. I than got to a place where it said "oops", and then gave up cause I wasn't sure if there was more

Text wise - I think the 3rd wall break was maybe a bit out of place compared to the other things - the mood here was good and gave the idea of being trapped very well. Good job!

@atsh thanks for those words :) From the perspective of a developer, I made a mistake and thought for some reasons that the average player would first go to the left, then to the right, and will collect the gray sphere as the last one. And I should have made some kind of glowing particles, but had no time :) Basically, if you would go to the "oops" direction, there is a blackhole which ends the game and says some outro. Thanks for your time and playing :)

Forsaken Valley looks like it could be really fun, I'm adding it to my wishlist! Here's hoping you can get some more motivation to keep plugging away, I know how it can be otherwise.

Great atmosphere!

I felt the gameplay was a bit lacking. Perhaps it would be nice to add navigation elements so you could build a map in your head. These could be simple, memorable objects, like a strangely shaped rock or a slightly different color palette in an area. This would encourage the player to move more consciously and have more control.

More hints could also be added, like at the end, to make it more of an exploration puzzle.

Can’t say I would’ve figured out the moral of the story on my own if it hadn’t been written on the screen =)
Other than that, I really enjoyed flying around. Somehow, the game gave me vibes strangely similar to Barotrauma.

So pretty! Loved the art direction. I think if you want the player to have a chill experience, maybe some guide/compass after a while of them being stuck could be a nice feather to help nudge them towards the correct direction

Ah yes, wanted to play some funny games and ended up questioning my lifetime decisions. Well, thanks, @ImmortalFox, gonna cry till tomorrow

Actually combination of some philosophical questions with emptiness and easy hand on the wall rule creates just enough time and spare mental resource to think about those questions even if they were made just to fill an otherwise empty game. Liked it
