ColorCollector by huihang
If you are confused about the game, please make sure you play the tutorial first.
All the colors in this world have vanished. As a holy slime, use yourself to bring color back to the world. This game has a relatively long playthrough.
You should collect colors to save the world.

But I didn't understand my objective? Find our white companions? Kill the king? Was it to discover the map and find the colors? It was interesting and fun, but a little frustrating because I kept falling, always taking the same path... Maybe it's also because the map is very large? I loved the save points, which saved me from having to retrace my steps.
It's a shame that the game text wasn't in English, but the tutorial was, which explained the gameplay <3.
I was able to play until the end, and that's what matters most. There were no bugs and it was an enjoyable experience,I loved the game mechanics.
2. Both plots and background have their own colors, but they are both black before being lit up.
3. When the protagonist's color matches that of a plot or the background, the corresponding plot or background can be lit up.
4. Before the map is lit up, the plots still exist; they are just black (so when both the background and plots are black, you might feel that the slime is floating).
5. A map may have various types of plots, and the plots and background in the same map may be of different colors.
Very fun 'discovering the world' as you went, and the color felt great. Good work!
@alva-peng, I’ve received many comments like 'waiting for the follow-up' or 'looking forward to a more complete version.' Isn’t this just a game competition project? I think it’s already complete. Is there some part that people wish to play but haven’t experienced yet? Could you say somrthing about it?
So, the movement mechanics are very well done. The platformer is really enjoyable to play. The color mixing is a cool idea for my mean. I'd also like to point out the tutorial, audio and final cutscene. It looks really interesting. Thank you for game and good luck!
It’s meant to encourage players to try more and explore more maps. Not knowing what’s below adds an element of surprise. Another purpose is to let players gradually reduce the difficulty by exploring the maps, eventually leading to a moment of clarity at the end. In fact, the frustration from drops also becomes a tear-jerking moment during the final summary animation, reminding players of the hardships they've been through.
I think you've done a good job teaching the game mechanics. They are quite novel, but I didn't have trouble understanding what to do.
To be honest, I'm not really sold on the idea of a platformer where I don't see where I'm going. But I really liked the process of painting the world with different colors. Maybe, it's worth considering showing obstacles with black and empty space with dark gray even before you pass through the place coloring it into different colors? Just an idea. That would require redesigning some of the puzzles though...
Another idea is instead of allowing the player to hold 2 colors, allow them to choose any unlocked color at any time. Sure, carrying that red from the very top to the caves felt satisfying, but saving at a wrong checkpoint or accidentally replacing red with a different color = lots of backtracking, and while you backtrack, you feel very dumb (definitely didn't happen to me lol 😂)
Now, I know that both of my ideas actually ruin some of the puzzles and make the game less smart, but I think right now there is a dissonance between cozy painting the world into different colors on one side and hardcore falling through the void back to the start on the other.
Still, I liked the game very much, just sharing my thoughts!
It's a good game. Personally, I think that for the parts that can be eliminated, some color distinction or clues could be added. This way, players can more directly understand where they can go.
some parts were challenging, and a walkthrough video really helped a couple of times. still, the concept is great, it's a very inspiring platformer. also it was really helpful to have en translation.
