Starbearer by Zillo
The city is being consumed by darkness.
In a dying world where sunlight can no longer pierce the dust-choked skies, you — the last collector — must wield Dr. X’s final invention, the Astrolabe, to gather fallen stars and reignite the light.
Every star you find pushes back the dark. Every spark carries a fragment of hope.
But when the shadows close in... only courage and will can keep the city alive.
Starbearer is a 2D platformer about light, loss, and human resilience.
Unlock new abilities, explore a collapsing world, and discover the truth behind the stars — and the meaning of what it truly means to be a collector.

Other than that I enjoyed it the game has potential and every aspect was taken into account :)
First off, the art style slaps. That dark, crumbling world with those glowing stars? Fits the “finding light in despair” vibe like a glove. Every frame looks so clean, you’d never tell it was a rush job. And the 2D platforming? Way smoother than I thought it’d be. Moving, jumping, dashing—all that stuff flows perfectly. Collecting stars feels super satisfying, no jank at all.
But here’s the real kicker: the theme is on point. Being a “Collector” isn’t just grabbing items—each star feels like you’re breathing a little hope into this dying world. Even the writing hits different. To pull off visuals, gameplay, and emotion this tight in just 48 hours? These guys are legit talented!😎🥰🥳
Good job guys !
Great art.
Found the jump sound effect a little repetitive; maybe could have been spruced up with a few more variants and maybe pitch changes, but that's a really minor point.
Well done!

Also, great art!
Some minor suggestions: the walls on the right could be higher contrast, I found myself running into a wall sometimes haha. Also I didn't quite understand the darkness and the slam-down mechanics, but maybe I missed something.
It was very satisfying collecting all the stars and getting to the end. The dash button location was a little unintuitive for me but other than that it was a very good game. Good job!
If i had to give some feedback, I'd say the controls feel kinda slidy, like you slide around a lot when stopping or starting to walk, which might have been the expected result but it feels quite much, and i feel like the character is sometimes really big compared to the spaces available : if your smallest spaces are 2 tiles high, your character shouldn't fit exactly in there it should be 1.5 tiles high, that way you don't get stuck around corners here and there because the player is too big.
If not everything feels really well executed! The art is really cute and the story is nice! Wish there was some music but as first time time devs that is quite hard to achieve or time exhausting to find online. Good Job!
