ORDEAL

A short Point-N-Click - Adventure in which you unriddle a long forgotten
day far in the past. The player is the killer - but he isn't playing him.
Instead he is taking control over a young woman to protect her from his own murderous frenzy. Did she survive? Which memory might be lost forever?
Search the film studio for items, combine them with objects in room and build a trap to stop the killer!

There are two text endings: one where the girl gets killed by the chainsaw. That means game over! You uncovered your inner Monster and there is no escaping it.
Then ofcourse, there is also the possibility for the girl to escape...

How to Play:

Hover cursor over objects:

-Hand: Interact/Take
-Square and Arrow: Hide in Object (Killer might check)

Click on objects in inventory an then on objects on level to usem them on these.

Double click to run faster!

//Disclaimer: Game Maker's pathfinding is a bit obscure sometimes. If you get out of bounds, please use "R".

YOU ARE THE MONSTER:

-Killer looks exactly like you. (If you answered all questions truthfully)

UPDATE: The killer is a lot slower now. More time for puzzle solving!
Also the game restarts after you were killed. I'm sorry for the lack of text, originally i wanted to include a lot more into the game to give you more clues what to do / what the objects are and to develope the story further. I had so much left to do in the last hours of the dare, so this cut short. I didn't want to change the game itself afterwards, so additionally here is a quick walkhrough if you get stuck:

I can't seem to run it. Once I launch the game it just freezes my screen and I have to terminate it with the ask manager.

Strange, your description and screenshots sound like there is more gameplay to this, but when I tried it it jumped right from describing myself to the chainsaw scene with her getting killed, a bit more text after that, and then the program closes.

I just had to laugh. Short (too short) but sweet! It would have been nice to have creepy music in the background. But i liked it. Congrats on your submission!!

Sorry if it's not understandable, the goal is to NOT get killed ;) I updated the game and added a walkthrough to the description. Would be cool to get some feedback on the whole thing!

Hey, I need spoilers. I got a battery and hooked it up to a fan and also a broom and something that looks like a mask or a coil of water.

As I was the guy with the chainsaw, it was not clear that I had to control the girl indeed... The idea was fun I think but I couldn't solve the game because of some bugs (the character couldn't move anymore) and I didn't find the solution. I think that if it worked better it could be a really fun game :) !

@disperse
You are probably talking about the bear trap? Put it down on the red cross far to the right.

@Quetzakol Yeah unfortunally there are problems with the pathfinding sometimes. I will try to optimize them.
Thanks for the feedback guys!

Additionally a quickfix for the pathfinding is to reset the charatcers by pressing "R".

Always +1 star for making an adventure game for LD :) It would have been nice if the the cursor would change when an item could be used on an object.

Also, I'm curious, why GameMaker and not Adventure Game Studio?
