Shadow Collector by wsmyyzcry

[raw]
made by wsmyyzcry for Ludum Dare 58 (JAM)

In the ruins of a world broken by war and disaster, life has long faded, but emotions remain. Regret, love, joy, and sorrow too strong to disappear have taken form as wandering “Shadows.” They linger where their owners drew their last breath. You are a Collector, a traveler of forgotten places. Your mission isn’t just to gather these shadows. it’s to bring them peace. You listen to their silent cries, understand their stories, and let them rest. Through this, you absorb their lingering strength, using it to heal the fractured world piece by piece, memory by memory.

I had trouble getting the ldjam hosted game to work, but the Itch.io version worked perfectly if anyone else is trying to play the game.

I had a little bit of difficulty with platforming while using my "e" ability as the platforms felt a little bit slippery to me. I was able to get to the second control platform area with the enemies, but I wasn't able to get up to the next section with my "e" shadow platform. Was there something I missed?

Nice work!

Love the flavor on your launch page. The tilty-ness of the world was a neat touch. I thought the puzzles were well-designed.

I got to the 4th lever device controlled by a shadow and couldn't figure out where to go from there - there's a tall door blocking you from going right, and none of the levers appear to open it.

Overall I still really dig the game!

The Gameplay is a little hard to get use to in the beginning, but after a while it's a quite cool mechanic. The graphics are nice and the effect of the whole level is very drippy. Nice entry!
