space rocks by Matt Swieboda
You're stuck deep in space, get to work mining resources from asteroids to save your ship!
Mine the asteroids to get resources to get materials, bring them to the space dock to reload your ship. And we'll keep the iron and copper for payment :)
resource types:
carbon: mining laser fuel
ice: ship oxygen and hydrogen for propulsion fuel
uranium: fuel for hyperspace warp drive

Tools we used:
- Godot 4.5 (game engine) with GDScript
- Blender (3D modeling)
- Aseprite (2D images, textures)
- Audacity (audio)

(After one warp jump, I didn’t encounter any resources — not sure if that was a bug or just an empty sector.)

Also for some reason the game launched in the background and had to be maximized from the taskbar for it show, which cause the buttons or the mouse cursor to not be where it showed, weird.
I like the concept of limiting resources for each asteroid field, but that being said, having one main resource and one sub-resource per asteroid field, when you need at least three out of five in total for your ship to function is a bit too much. Maybe I didn't figure something out, but not finding ice at all across 4 jumps does invoke emotions xD Maybe adding 1 or 2 guaranteed asteroids of each necessary-for-survival resource could make the experience a bit better?
In any case, I compelted the mission on the second try despite what I said above, and it was a pretty enjoyable experience of the "work sim" genre :)
One thing that annoyed me: when I started the game it was in windows mode (which is fine) but it was partly outside my screen to I had to figure out how to move it as it is borderless so no mouse dragging possible.
But maybe that was just because of my multi screen setup.
I have to agree with @baturinsky, I also could not figure out how the loading mechanism works.
Apart from that great enty!
