M.M.O.C.E by D3zmodos

[raw]
made by D3zmodos for LD33 (JAM)
Play as the hero in a classic top-down arena shooter, but watch out, your enemies will do their best to corrupt you and bring you over to their side!
How long can you withstand their persuasive onslaught (of bullets)?!

Controls:
WASD to move (note however that you cannot stop moving once you start)
Left mouse to shoot
Escape/Enter/Space to move around between screens as directed

If you have an internet connection while playing, the game will try to download other players' ghosts to fight you (and similarly will attempt to upload yours when you die).
Also note that if you return to the main menu between rounds, it will give you a new set of enemies.

We had to scrap our initial idea and start from scratch on Sunday afternoon so its rather buggy, if something breaks (you can't die for example) just press escape to return to the menu and start again, hopefully it will be a bit less broken.
It's built with Monogame and so it may or may not work on Mac/Linux but is completely untested.

I liked this game, it was a bullet storm game and that isn't hugely innovative but that's fine, the gameplay was fun but a bit too repetitive, some variation on the enemies and more swarm like A.I would have really helped to give a fun experience, it suited the theme perfectly in an interesting way but the mood was tanked by no soundtrack or ambient noises. Overall nice entry but really could do with improvements in certain areas.

Second playthrough, game framerate dropped below 1fps after about 30 seconds of play :( Fun little top-down shooter, but I think either enemies need to be bigger or you need to shoot faster, I spent a lot of time circling around single enemies trying to hit them.

The game became laggy after a while, so I had to restart it. It definitely needs more polish, but since you started from scratch on Sunday, that's alright :)

Loved the graphics and the gameplay was smooth until it became very slow and eventually crashed.
