BLOODPACT
Is our first project created for this event. The game is set in a gothic dark-fantasy world. Its protagonist, Marceline, is a vampire whose mission is to take revenge on the human kingdom for invading her chambers and stealing her artifacts.
The Blood Moon is rising, and tonight its glow will shine brighter than ever.

Overall combined with resprite for tablets,i worked with 3d, some free use png for effects texture, photo of our members, irl photo, clipstudio and sometimes procreate
Also for objects we taked irl photo of jewelry and too shrinked! Only cup is png from free use hehe
Updt: and forgot add, animations is clingy since we had not a lot of time, so i did with my friend maximum simple anim, will pin here first attack animation of knight xd



I think getting the hang of pixel art games and platformers involve a lot of trial and error. I find it easier on the eyes if there is color temperature difference between foreground and background elements, so they are more easily to distinguish. I also almost ran past most the artifacts because I could not make them out that well. E.g. adding a highlight/tiny shine to them could make them pop more.
It can also be nice to add visual feedback if you receive damage, so you don't have to move your eyes forth and back between player and healthbar all the time.
Personally I was keeping the sprint button pressed all the time, also because it was much necessary for jumps between platforms. At that point I'm just thinking it would be okay to make this the default speed or to lower the gravity to allow further jumps with normal walking speed.
Anyway I don't want this to sound too negative, getting 3 levels done in this time frame already seems quite an achievement to me.
(PS. but I think in the parallax effect of level 2, the closer trees should be moving faster than the trees further away)
Yes, I noticed this issue and we wanted to fix it. In the future, I’ll draw new platform textures and correct the shading mistakes. I really like adding details, so in this case, it’s probably a bit too much XD
Initially, we had an idea involving stealth, which is why there’s walk and sprint, but the mechanic was too hard for us to add. And TRUE we really do need to add a damage animation

We’re already aware of the bugs in the game and will keep fixing them! But for now, we’re suffering with the html export haha
@alex-o thankies! We still work on them! Knights have base attack and intelligence with area of detection, they have random hp. Mages run from player and have range attack. We work now on new mechanics and animations, also plan to add messages with tips
The controls are a bit janky, but the game is very playable. I almost died in the forest though.
I'd say the mood, with the graphics and the music, is a success.

@greedy-merchant Thankies! in the game, you collect the blood of your enemies to replenish your health, as well as items to further facilitate gameplay. Anyway in plans we have a lot ideas, but need to make them logic! I think we'll add some puzzles and problem-solving to the levels! Thanks for the idea hehe

Bug reported: When passing through the far right side, I fell off the platform and was unable to perform any actions.

One 'bug' I found is if I left to the far side of the screen I could jump up to the level above through the platforms. Overall very good entry into the jam, thought you guys got a lot done with this entry. Great job :thumbsup:
