Tax Hans! by rascar_capac

That greedy Hans paid not his taxes in due season. We must forth and gather that which he oweth unto the Crown. Shall we seize upon some of his belongings? So it standeth: none may escape the order of the realm.
:video_game: HOW TO PLAY: - find coins and other valuable goods and click on them until you reach the due amount - you can break things but be careful, otherwise that dear Hans will press charges, and we seek not trouble with the King, do we?
What visage is that, Hans? Dost thou hide some secret?
:bug: KNOWN BUGS: - Restarting the game won't destroy the old objects' content - Right now it's actually not possible to finish the game, you can't tax more than 38…
Thanks for playing, yet forget not to render thy taxes!

- When Restarting the objects didn't have any coins in them.
- I wasn't able to complete the game always being 2 coins short, and I think I searched all the objects.
- It would be cool if coins could drop out of upside down pouches, and if Hans had 2 worried faces, worried you will break something and worried you will take his gold.
The first time I played, I collected 37 coins, but I lost. After that, I lost three more times because I didn't get any coins at all, except for the initial three. (Either it was a mistake or I was doing something wrong)
The gameplay is simple but everything fits very well together, and I especially love your visuals. They stand out from what we usually see in a game jam, and it all looks very consistent!
As others have already mentioned, nice improvements would be to make objects more interactable. Here's my list:
- Rotate stuff (purses or bowls) to make the stuff inside fall without breaking the container.
- Shake the object to know with SFX if it contains interesting stuff or if it's empty
- It would have been fun if when finding the love letter, you could play around with it and after a while Hans would point out to a place where he hid money.
It would have been awesome with nice music and effects, but eh, who am I to tell you that. :D
Nice one!
