[raw]
made by abcdef65g for Ludum Dare 58 (JAM)

You are a nameless wanderer, whose blade cares not for justice or proving your strength. Your only purpose is to collect swords from unworthy warriors, in an effort to both pacify the land and increase your lovely weapon collection.

In order to make sure the swords are not damaged in the process of retrieving them, this wanderer has mastered a unique technique. Essentially, defeating foes through quick minigames, ending opponents in a single blow in a most gracious display of true skill.

Instructions

In this game, the wanderer moves automatically, dashing from foe to foe in order to free swords from unworthy hands. As soon as an enemy is found, follow the onscreen instructions and quickly beat the random minigame that appears. There are three minigames available, and all of them can be done using the W, A, S ,D, Q, E keys.

The challenge level of minigames will go up as you meet stronger opponents. How far can you grow your sword collection?

A very stylish game
The minigame mechanics feel fresh, and I wish there were more of them. A great game for a game jam.

The minigames are ok, but I think it needs more polish, specially the graphics.

There's a good base here, but the slow pacing and difficulty ramping makes it a bit tiring after a while. I think you could probably double the speed of most stuff and get a more enjoyable pace.

The visuals are nice though, the music is good, and the minigames all function as one would expect without bugs.

Nice work!

Why only 1000. We need infinite amount! :D nice idea of the game, but it still need to be polished.

Really neat game! I liked the variety of the minigames, and the music was nicely chosen.

To improve upon it, the game could lean in one of two directions regarding pacing: it could be either more frantic (like a WarioWare style, where minigames stack back-to-back) or the time between the minigames should offer the player something else to do (perhaps a quick minigame to sharpen the sword for a buff?).

But we all worked under a time constraint! So, nice entry!

Pretty cool game! I like the different minigames, and the fact that it seems that your opponents also play in these minigames. The graphics of the characters are pretty cool, but they clash pretty badly with the background. Also, it becomes boring pretty quickly. Still pretty cool!

Neat idea, hopefully you'll continue to work on it in some capacity, there's much scaling potential. Keep it up!

Good job! I really like the art style and animations.

I do feel like the mini games themselves got a little old after a while. In the typing one, I found it hard at first to remember which key was which before I realized I should put my hand on the keyboard like I was typing normally, then it got really easy. I was totally thrown (in a good way!) the first time it went backwards.

But with my hand on the keyboard like I was typing meant that the "hold the q key down" one was really awkward using my pinky on the q. The third game, pressing 'e' in time, never got any more challenging. It maybe would have been better if they sped up. I also really wish the key presses were in time with the music. In some ways it was harder because I had this beat in my ears and it didn't line up with when I should press the button.

I also really wish that you moved faster between sword-guys, but I did like getting a little break between games. It might have been useful to have the guys give some sort of clue to which mini game you would play, but that might have been asking a bit much for a jam. Or maybe you did do that and I just missed it.

Overall, I thought it was fun, it looked great, and I like the idea.

Nice! If I could train whole keyboard (📈 improving typing with my all 10 fingers - you know what I mean) I would return to this game and played it maybe even regularly! 😍 ;-) Good job! I enjoyed đŸ•šī¸ playing it. 💗
