Hi and welcome to Junk Protocol!

Not too long ago, the world was in peace. The humans
arent there to fight wars over the world anymore, so us
robots and plants were happy... Peaceful...

One day, one of the human works came free... A computer virus.
It spread amongst the robotic population until it had
infected every single one of them. Only one of their servants
        and friends was left: You.

Now, you need to power the reactor so you can access the only
antivirus left on planet earth. The problem: It loses power
at an alarming rate! And if it loses all power, the antivirus is gone...

You need to find a balance between powering the reactor and upgrading
yourself, so that you can overcome the waves of infected robots
and half-squid-half-cube-nightmares while travelling to distant islands.

WASD or Arrow Keys to move
        MOUSE to aim
LEFT MOUSE BUTTON to shoot primary
RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON to shoot secondary
E to progress to next level
        Power cell modes are:
-self-uprading mode (upgrade yourself when picking up power cells)
-reactor-powering mode (power the reactor when picking up power cells)
LSHIFT to switch between power cell modes
        ESCAPE to quit ):

With that done, have a good time!
        And good luck.
        -Palerus 7

Fun little game. I liked it!

It's a fun game! I don't think you should put yourself down in the game text. it's a jam game and no one should be expecting perfection! That said, I think this game has really good bones. you even added a post-win bonus mode. that's great!

On my first run I didn't notice the 2 different powering modes, as indicated by the text in the top right corner of the screen. for future players, make sure to pay attention to that

@khaotom Thank you very much for your feedback! I must admit that the UI for that was kinda rushed... Ill pay more attention to that in the future! Thank you very much (;

Charming graphics, i like the player side view a lot. Spawning on the shooting enemies required so many clicks then the little pyramids just sat there, I particularly liked moving and getting a shot on them. I had fun and the exposition really sold me on giving it a try!

A fun few minutes. What the self-upgrading mode did wasn't entirely clear. Seemed to heal me, and then suddenly I had a machine gun. The controls were responsive and having the two weapons was a nice addition. Definitely could've used some more polish, but all compo/jam games could use that as well.

@unpronounceable Im glad you enjoyed it! Polishing definitely should have been a bigger priority of mine...

Even though it could use some polish I found the game pretty fun to play.

I liked the infinite mode because it let me see how fast my shooting got as I upgraded more and more :D

@Kazuren glad to hear that! Yeah, polishing levels isnt my biggest strength... Nice that you enjoyed breaking it ^^

I liked the art. I wish there was a web version.

Great game! Love the push/pull between powering the reactor or leveling up. I found the art very endearing - and the perlin noise grass was actually a pretty cool effect. Were the worlds randomly generated? They were actually quite fun to fight on - great work!

@Baluj Thanks... I never thought the art would be cool... I sadly dont exactly know how to do web versions, but ill try to look into that ^^

@ugly-robot Thank you very much! As I said above, i never thought that my programmer art would be ever seen as endearing or anything in that direction... Thats why I did use perlin noise for the dirt texture and the foliage. Yes, the worlds are randomly generated (The player spawn location was bugged until the last few hours), and im glad they turned out in a way that you had fun fighting on them! (They just use some Rectangles). As I said, thank you very much for your feedback!

Funny game, but I had to play a few rounds to understand the power cell concept.

I like randomized top-down scenarios. It's a difficult area to master, isn't it?
There's a bug with death that isn't caused by energy. The counter keeps counting down, and just pressing spacebar keeps the game going infinitely.
Is the "machine gun" shot part of the game?

Congratulations!

@VikFX Thanks, im sorry... im not very good at explaining stuff...

@euler-moises Thanks a lot! Glad you liked it... I dont know about that bug your describing, but i hope stuff like that doesnt happen too often... Yeah, the machine gun part is kind of intentional, i have some footage of me and the enemies having 30-60 shots per second, and it looked so funny that i didnt fix the machine gun thematic. (Not because i didnt have that much time, too, ahem ahem) But thanks again, and Im happy that you liked the game!

I enjoyed this game! The gameplay loop was satisfying - always fun when there are 2 conflicting resources to balance. The controls were really easy to pick up, and the difficulty scaling from level to level was great. I also appreciated that you created your own assets - definitely adds a lot of charm!

Fun game. For whatever reason my aim wasn't quite right with the mouse, though it's possible that's because I was running it on a 16:10 monitor.

@oller125 Thanks, even a 16:10 monitor shouldnt really be a problem and im very sorry that affected you...
