Neat game, but the movement was a little wonky while trying to maneuver between the stools.

The characters look interesting and I like how the theme is approached. Also some systems (like the dialog system) are things that I appreciate.
There are however things that can be approved a bit.
- The controls are (even sober) quite imprecise. It took me a while to figure out how to approach the bartender.
- The room is not very atmospheric (basically just white, without textures). A simple solution may be to make everything darker.
- You can avoid the timer by just running away, before the text is fully displayed.

The flat design and white interiors are minimalist and really neat. It was kinda difficult to walk between the stools though.

I get that it's a jam game and flat models are to be expected, but its just way too bright. Change the model color to something slightly darker, or better yet just color each of the models to something different. Like a red stool, brown table, blue walls, whatever you want, just to have that little variation even with solid colors would add a lot.

Collision was a little sticky in the small room, I would suggest using colliders with rounded edges to allow for "sliding" around obstacles. Capsule and sphere colliders are your friends.

I like that this was the first Jam game I played with lore and dialogue and the 2d art was really well done.

An interesting idea. But it was annoying that the character was bouncing all the time. The music is annoying, the bartender is looking straight into the soul. Interesting

I liked the weird atmosphere of the game but became quickly annoyed how difficult it was to move around in the bar as it was very tight with the chair and table colliders. Also making the text smaller as it was running made it a bit hard to follow the dialogue. Some textures to the 3d models would add up a lot to the experience and the white text would be then better visible too. Anyway the character models were cool fitted well to the quirky bar.

@stratcat66 Thanks for the comment and corrections. As the art lead, I asked if we could darken the lighting and fill it all in before the deadline, but the programmer and 3D artist said they probably wouldn't have time. As for the timer bug, I'll pass it on to the programmer, thanks:)

@bobap Oh, thank you so much for the advice. As the art lead (on this game), I was also really confused by the white models, but I was hoping until the very end that we'd at least have time to upload some subdued lighting =_="
And well, flat characters are something of a feature of the project (ideally, I would like low-poly characters, but I'm not sure that a 3D artist would want to bother with that).
Ultimately, we want to finish the game after the competishion, so if you're interested in the concept, you can follow us on Itch ;)

Interesting concept, but needs more work!

I liked the idea of collecting pieces of identity. Also, I somewhat enjoyed the combination of 2D art in 3D environment. I think that can be really good with some more polishing.

Unfortunately the placement of object made it nearly impossible to navigate the level. I also kept getting weird issue with the bathender where the dialog won't open when I look directly at him. Instead I had to try catching some tiny specific position when its triggered. The rest of characters worked better.

The drunk effect is out of this world haha Pretty cool

I love the graphics in this game, and the underlying premise. It certainly is unique. However, I had a lot of trouble getting around the bar. Often, I would get stuck, and would have to play around with the controls randomly to get unstuck. For example, I once got stuck in the doorway to the bathroom (see screen shot) and it took me a while just to get out.

![game.png](///raw/967/21/z/6f790.png)

So, it would be nice to have a bar with more open space to move around in. On the other hand, I didn't mind the flat characters at all — they seemed to fit the surreal mood very well. Overall, it's a very creative game with a lot of potential. I look forward to the expanded game.

Love the art style and the concept. The controls feel a bit tricky at first, but they get better once I am used to them. I think it would be better if the item the player is holding dropped automatically when picking up a new one. I picked up everything before talking to the bartender and then found I had nothing to offer. Or did I miss anything?

I like the comedy of the game and the dialogs. However, I think it is a little bit confusing to me. I got blacked out once I got the three items, if I fail to deliver one item is game over. I guess I must be missing something. Additionally I agree with the comments about the room aesthetics and the controls.

Woah, such a cool premise collecting bits of clues around a surreal bar like this. The character portraits are awesome, their designs suit the game's theme pretty well. Also love to see another case of character billboarding in the jam. Really excited to see the game fleshed out more with textured models & lighting. For immediate effect, at this point slapping on just some solid color U3D materials would really help get closer your intended effect.

In terms of gameplay, however, I feel that your game at this stage has a few bits of technical issues which prevented me from focusing on the narrative. Though it should be easily fixable if you plan to further work on it.

- Playing on the web build, it's hard to read some of the character dialogues with the long text crammed into the small speech box, while the complex font also makes the text less legible. It's kind of impossible to fully absorb the text like this especially with the time limit in place. I think breaking some long texts up into smaller dialog segments and using a simpler font for character speech would really help with their readability.

My specific case of text cramming in mind -- this speech by the cowboy:

![cowboy.png](///raw/2fa/56/z/6f848.png)

- For a game about searching for objects in a bar, the map at this point is a bit hard to navigate. I had to constantly jump and squeeze my player through chairs and tables due to their collision box giving me little walk space. Even so I'm frequently stuck. If you plan to make the bar more navigable, I think it's good to try to disable some of the environment props' collisions (e.g. chairs) or just increase the size of the bar with so that tables and chairs can having more walkable space between them.

- While it's not entirely a bad thing for a narrative game to be timed (Outer Wilds is a good example), currently I feel like the timer on this version of your is too tight, which doesn't give me enough time to absorb the narrative. If it's an intended design in your complete vision for the game, perhaps consider giving the player a bit more time.

Either way, it's really impressive that you guys put together a 3D game like this in under 48h. Not to mention you also got an interesting premise and cool design. Good job!

I like the stylistic 2D-billboard characters and the surreal & sleazy narrative setting. It's evident you've put thought and effort into these aspects.

Unfortunately technically the game is so wonky It made it difficult to dive deeper into the story. And since I had to run the game with lowest resolution because of my ancient trash-machine it further messed up my experience

I managed to talk to the two customers of the bar, but not the bartender. I could also pick up the doll and the knife. The doll seemed to disappear from existence when I picked up the knife while holding it.

---

If you plan to improve and/or expand the game, I recommend you also upload desktop-builds for different platforms. They always tend to perform better than web-builds in every aspect. Especially on older hardware! :potato: :computer:

Keep on jamming!

@d3kryption Thanks for the feedback! We're so glad you liked our game so much. Of course, we're still working on its development. @dis0rder Thank you so much for your feedback! We really put a lot of effort into our project. Unfortunately, time was running out and we had to cut a lot of gameplay. We didn't have time to upload music, textures, lighting, and even a couple of characters (and their quests, respectively). Unfortunately, in this version of the game, you can only take one item; if you take a second, it disappears forever (a bug). Incidentally, even I had trouble completing the timed mission due to getting stuck in chairs (we'll fix that later), so I took the item I needed in advance and immediately gave it to the bartender when the timer started.
Thanks for the tip about the PC build. I also thought it was a shame we didn't upload it, but it can't be helped.

@helen Thank you very much. Yes, I understand. We'll be fine-tuning the game and fixing this. @marp Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately, we were pressed for time, and we had to cut a lot of gameplay. The main character losing consciousness makes sense, but since it's such a stripped-down concept, it's a bit lost. You can get a glimpse of what it all means by reading the diary at the end, hahaha. We'll definitely make it clearer in future updates.

Looks really nice, love the art style. The movement was a little janky, maybe if there was more room to walk around? Still pretty cool though!

Interesting artwork and cool concept! It's a shame you weren't able to finish the gameplay (I feel like you were intending to have the conversations play a role in beating the game but didn't have time for that). Also it seems the instructions are mixed up in the description, as pressing E both interacted and progressed the conversation, which threw me off for a bit trying to press G.

One other thing I noticed was that the itch.io full screen button didn't work properly, as I had to use the Unity full screen button instead. Maybe it would be better to just disable the itch one in the settings?

OMG this is an amazing game! I really love the art part, the mixture of 2D and 3D is very cool and every character are with strong personality. Though it's a little bit hard for me to move between the chairs, but that's not a deduction point for me. Hope you can continue working on it, I beieve the bar will be more coordinated with the overall atmosphere in the future :)

@zshandi-krahn Thanks for the insightful feedback! We're glad you appreciated the artwork and concept. You're right, we had bigger plans for the conversations, but ran out of time. Thanks for pointing out the control issue with E/G – we'll definitely fix that. And good catch on the fullscreen button! We'll look into disabling the Itch.io one. Appreciate you taking the time to play and provide such detailed feedback.
However, if you’re interested in the game’s concept, you can follow its updates on Itch!

Great job with the characters and dialogue! Definitely didn't expect to be talking to bartender Marilyn Manson hahaha. I liked the drunken effect and how spooky and hard to navigate things got. As people pointed out, the collision of the stools and the environment was a bit frustrating, though maybe it just added to the drunk vibe at the end. It's clear there were many areas you could have polished and integrated better that you didn't have time for. The white 3D environment was quite a bold choice, though I feel you could have made it a bit more cohesive with the 2D characters.

Oh, I love the atmosphere of this game, the dialogue and art are very interesting!!!But sometimes I find it difficult to move around on the map, and it takes me some time to figure out what I need to do HAHAHA
