Ouija by DrunkardWolf

'Ouija' is a short horror experience about talking to a lost spirit through a Ouija board. Through your conversation with the spirit, you find that they are imprisoned in purgatory by an unholy demon, who may now be coming for you...

Stretched the theme a bit this time round, have just finished working on a game about working in an delivery fulfilment warehouse which took us 3 years, so really didn't want to make anything about boxes, warehouses or deliveries right now 😅

After playing I double checked it was indeed a COMPO game. It's amazing you could achieve these visuals in just 48 hours, great work!
If I can give you some (hopely helpful) feedback, sometimes the ouija felt a little bit too slow and monotonous. Maybe some frantic or herratic movements would improve the mood.
All that said, an amazing result, one of my favourites so far. Congratulations!
After getting up, it takes a long time until the spirit goes away.
It would be nice if the lighting of the crucifix was a little more intense.
Leaving aside the theme, it is quite an immersive game, congratulations!
The overall mood you've managed to create is really impressive. The music and sound effects were also spot-on - they added just the right touch of scariness and really enhanced the overall experience.
The only downside was that it didn't quite follow the theme. Nonetheless, you did a fantastic job, and I thoroughly enjoyed playing your game!
By the way, the link to the source code doesn't work. I guess the repo is private now.
Seems like you've learned some during those 3 years! Boy!
I'm impressed, not sure I have anything to complain about. :)
Thankfully the demon was chill about it, maybe you could add a more engaging mechanic to defeat it (maybe it could move and you would need to track it with the mouse). All in all really awesome!
I'm not able to rate but I loved playing this one!
@markais Thanks for playing, I'm thinking about working on this further and definitely want to do more with the ending, just ran out of time during the jam, intended to do a big animation during that sequence with items being thrown at the player etc.
@robert18 Thanks for playing, means a lot :)

Great game with amazing visuals and mood. The theme is a stretch but I'm into that. At least it's a break from all the cardboard boxes. Congrats!
The demon was pretty chill, and we hung around while I figured how to use the crucifix, which I also liked actually!
The game looks really good, I love the light effect on the crucifix. Well done!
It feels like the characters are typed very slowly, at these moments, it was just boring, but not for long. In a big game, that would be unbearably annoying. Also I don't really think that glitchy UI is a good idea.
I just thought it would be cool to have a mini-game or some kind of mechanic while the ghost is typing letters, so it wouldn't feel so boring.
