Deliver by Zirrrus

[raw]
made by Zirrrus for Ludum Dare 53 (COMPO)

Not the most creative take on the theme... deliver packages to residents of a very generic city. A bunch of random addresses are generated and you have to deliver packages to these by navigating to the correct street, house, person. Interact using the left mouse button. Drag packages inside the storage area by holding the right mouse button.

The gameplay is not all that riveting. But I had fun making the graphics. I had plans to do audio this time, but barely got this far - too bad.

Only thing I did not make is the font. And the last names are from Fighting Baseball.

More highlighting of the open map button would probably help confusion, as thats where I got stuck. Neat little puzzle optimisation game.

A bit formless as is, but there's a fun central idea here. Satisfying to complete. Could be a lot of fun with more structure and gameplay elements. Pretty charming overall!

Took me a bit to figure out what to do, your help button made the job! ;)

4,49min ! Like others, took me 2 min to understand how to deliver but once done, the game is cool. (lucky for me it is a game and not a daily job)
Also the navigation between screens is not intuitive I think (with return buttons, and map accessible only at one point)
But I loved it, good game! And made with godot !!

Not the most fun I had, but it is pretty well made. The help button was very welcome! Good job!

I agree with the above statement. It's really well made for a game jam. It's super polished, well done.
But it isn't necessarily a lot of fun. Some things that could've spiced things up is a penalty for driving around town, so you have to figure out an optimal route. Or names that are not correct on the packages, slightly misspelled. Maybe a number that is wrong, but if you check the neighbour, the person is living there. Idk, just rambling a bit. It is made so well that it tastes like more!

I really liked the idea, good art style, especially the texture work. As mentioned in the previous comments, I expect some new mechanics during the gameplay, names misspelled, some letters covered with dirt, etc. Something like Papers Please, that you start with basic and simple mechanics but eventually new ones are added and make the game more complex and fun.

I had fun delivering to all these retired baseball players! I do feel like it needs either a move and/or a time limit to add more challenge. But what you were able to finish was really nice! Well done! :D

Nice job, I found myself super relaxed while playing this game. In my opinion game play feels a bit stale at times, but you only have so much time in a game jam. You can always go back and add some more mechanics later. Overall, a well polished game that matches the theme well.

The visual style is nice and uncluttered, easy to read and navigate. Took a couple of play through to get the hang of the deliveries but it was pretty intuative.

Don't downplay the gameplay! I enjoyed the cohesive art style and the tumbling packages and finding where to deliver it is more than enough gameplay - although in its current form, it needs "something". I would suggest either to add time-pressure (for an exciting game), or gratifying polish like laid back music, sound effects, delivery rewards, etc (for a casual clicker-type game).

One nitpick with the UI: the map and the "go to street" buttons being on opposite sides of the screen was a little counter-intuitive and the two buttons being next to each other would represent a more natural user workflow (load packets, choose street on map, then go to it).

Overall good game, I enjoyed it!

Really like the graphics. Took me a short while to get into it. Tried to press go to street many times without realizing theres open map. Still good game!

10,67 minutes oof. I got sidetracked xD Generally a simple game, well done. I am not sure if I wouldnt prefer the street selection in between package and house number or if that is actually a nice breaking of order. Sounds are missing well, still a well made design. Gameplay is too simple though, could need some pressure or time constraints.

I didn't like the fact you had to constantly click to get to the different views. That being said the game felt very polished. The graphics were very consistent.

Super polished and relaxing to play. I like how all the streets are just various words for paths/roads, it's nice and charming. I feel like it was missing something to make it all come together, but what's here is very well-made. Nice work.

Very Logistical. I couldn't even tell the difference between being in a truck on a postal delivery service and in the game. I felt like work again. Man. Good job. Graphics and solid mechanics. I was waiting for godzilla to burst through the wall and eat me at one point though. Was really peaceful and ... you know, sometimes that happens. ;-)
