The lines from the generals were funny, and I liked the low-bit aesthetic of the environment. I think the items are a little too difficult to use properly, as they're mostly reactive items to get you out of colliding with a bullet, but if I had the reaction speed, I would have just ran out of the way anyways. More passive \/ not-time bounded items would probably work better, like a permanent shrink, or a piece of armor that protects you against one extra shot indefinitely. Even a temporary invincibility like the Star from Mario would work, but it would have to have a long enough duration that you felt safe using it. I think that for the time provided, you guys managed to make a very polished and enjoyable experience.
