Warehouse Tycoon
Stack, Toss, and Profit
Get ready to test your puzzle-solving skills in this challenging game about running a warehouse! With limited funds for every trip, it's up to you to strategically stack as many boxes as possible in your truck, even if it means tossing some aside and risking it all for a bigger payout. Can you fill your trunk to the brim and make the most profit?
Controls
- left-click to click
- right-click to rotate
Note
- The web embedded version uses the Godot4 compatibility mode, for smoother rain drops (maybe that's where you draw the line) use the download links. :)
- For Linux and Mac, download the itch.io version, for Mac you may need to disable the Gatekeeper, idk how to work around that unfortunately.
- Alternatively, you can download the missing .pck file from the windows version it should still work

This was my first Ludum Dare, my first solo game jam and my second ever game. I'm really happy with the result, it may not be as flashy but I took the time to tune the balance of the game and focus on a polished experience. Unfortunately, no time for music, but I would recommend "Lofi girl" in the background. :)
- Engine - Godot4
- Art - Krita
- sfx - Audacity + jsfxr

One thing I think that can be improved is the button tier sizes. Easy fix would be to have 3 pluses on the largest package button, 2 on the medium, and only one on the small to make the tiers clear.
Also I have noticed there is a bug with the parcels snapping to the grid: When placing stuff on the back bumper it's not in the truck so gets left behind. If there is only one row of space, a two-wide parcel cannot be place there, however by letting it go at the right position between bumper and last row, it will sometimes snap to the position of being half inside the truck. The parcel doesn't count towards income, but it messes up the allignment of all the other parcels, making the placement of subsequent parcels look a bit wonky. This doesn't really affect my rating of the game (I still find it adorable), just wanted to let you know :)
I had some struggles with understanding the Mac export on Godot, unfortunately, it seems it won't let me make a version that wouldn't pass the GateKeeper.
Idk much about MacOS but apparently that's something you can disable, I understand if you don't want to. Regardless I uploaded a file on the itch.io page for that.
I think there is even room to expand the idea post-jam. Maybe fragile objects that can only be moved once? or ones that have to be on top as not to get crushed.
Regardless, great game :)
Thanks for the nice review tho!

Still, very good and polished game. Congrats !
