Awesome job with the graphics. I feel like you really nailed an interesting retro computer with vector graphics combo with the look! The sounds were also satisfying too. Pretty fun as far as endless runners go, though I think a visual cue for the driver's range for delivering packets would have helped. Great work!

@eric-nguyen Thanks for playing and for the kind words! Yeah I'm really happy with how the visuals turned out in the end. But I 100% agree that the delivery range should be more obvious because it can be a bit frustrating to time it correctly. Especially at higher speeds.

Thank you, everyone for playing!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the visuals! I do agree that the replay value isn't huge since there isn't much variety. Definitely on the list for when the jam is over. Hard agree that the teletext-inspired game market is ripe and ready to be tapped into.

Also maybe I should put in a 404 page...

I played a few games - didn't get higher than 400 high score, it gets pretty tricky. The music slaps and complements the aesthetic of the game nicely. I think the aesthetic in general is really cool and abstract, just about communicating the idea of a truck driving down a motorway. My only critique is that I find the yellow barriers a little bit jarring / too obstructive while the delivery nodes are a bit too hard to see. Cool little project!!

I now work with people who are too young to remember Teletext and it's making me feel so, so old - at the ripe age of 30 🤣

This is a dope entry. My opinion is coloured by the fact I enjoy endless runners anyway, but this one is cool. The graphics are good, the menu is AWESOME, and the music is perfect for the game. Instant trance like state on this one.

The delivery mechanic doesn't really add that much to the experience, it seems like later when the game really speeds up it's better to just ignore deliveries and just pay attention to not crashing.

Despite that, love this one.

Obligatory high score post:

Very nice entry! I am a sucker for those kinda of graphics, and with the music on top of that, it was really on point - loved it!
I won't post my score 'cause I also wasn't able to get that high, but it was a nice progression curve that made me wanna retry and get better each time!
Great job!

Really love the graphics here, really unique and prompts nostalgia within me. I also appreciate how fast you ramp up the speed here, since these types of games can get quite monotonous otherwise. Great job!

Thanks for playing!

I'll be honest about the delivery nodes, it got very close to the submission time before I realised that I hadn't implemented the theme yet! So they were a bit rushed and definitely in need of some love. I plan to continue on with this project a bit after the jam and that's certainly on the docket.

Also don't worry about not posting your score. I'm not that good at it either and I made the sodding thing!

I enjoyed it! The packet delivery aspect was a nice twist on the genre, but it was kind of hard to tell when I should press the key. Anyways super nice game! Liked the aesthetic too!

The vibe for this game is very on point, very well done. I was curious how you accomplished this in Godot and I appreciate that it's 2D drawing, from what I saw! The music is also great and really compliments the game well. The only thing I'd say is that it felt like the barriers were a little unforgiving/larger than expected but I think that just required some adjustment from me. Overall a really pretty and properly polished entry!

Game looks good. Pulls you in to keep replaying like all good endless runners should. epic![ib.jpg](///raw/d34/a5/z/5b4d4.png)

Game looks fantastic and feels really well, especially when the speed gets higher. But I didn't quite get the package delivery part. Later in the game, when the pace picks up, it's better be ignored in favor of surviving the endless barrage of firewalls.

I love it, cool retro art style with some fun albeit simple gameplay. If there's anything to comment on it's that the score for deliveries didn't seem worth it for the most part, and the a bit wonky perspective on the player box kept throwing me of.

In firefox(102.10.0esr on linux) I got this error:

Error
The following features required to run Godot projects on the Web are missing:

Cross Origin Isolation - Check web server configuration (send correct headers)

SharedArrayBuffer - Check web server configuration (send correct headers)

(I got it working in chromium tho so make of that what you will)

Thanks for playing and I'm glad you all enjoyed it!

Also thanks for all the kind words about the music. My mate Tom composed it but I opted out of the audio category because I used some licensed sound effects. I still tell him about all the comments I get about it though.

@twobitadder Yeah! I kind of accidentally implemented some basic 3D rendering for it. Looking back on it, I almost definitely could have leveraged the 3D part of Godot but I learnt a lot doing it this way so I don't regret it. I've pushed some more changes to the sourcecode if you wanted to have a peak at a cleaner version of the rendering. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post external links here so I'll just tell you the part where I actually draw the lines is in `stages/Box.gd`. (edit: to future-proof this comment, the latest commit when this comment was written was `06c44007`.)

@tinysalad Thanks for letting me know. I know that Godot does some weird stuff on itch.io which I thought I'd dealt with. I'll give it a look.

Really nice game got 644 points :D I love the aesthetic, looks really retro but still cool. The music set the mood really well with a very techy feeling, and is also pretty well made. Gameplay is simple but fun, and I like how it says when the game speeds up, that's nice. The game also fits the theme pretty well, being an IP delivering packets is definitely a more unique take on the Delivery theme, I like it. My only criticism is that it can be a little hard knowing when you're able to deliver a packet when you just get to a wall with a square on it, and the camera angle makes it hard to tell when a firewall has passed or not, ended up running into a few of them instead of getting just past them. That might be my own skill issue though.

Overall cool game, I love the idea and aesthetics and music, very nice :)
