Spacella by Dandala88

Have you ever thought to yourself, what is the one major need for all of the galaxy. Say it at the same time as me... 1. 2. 3... "Parcel delivery!!!" Glad we are on the same page.

Welcome to Spacella, a semi-idle strategy game where you run the galaxy's largest shipping company. Plan routes for your modest fleet of 1 truck, then as you gain more money you can buy even more trucks until you have a fleet big enough to rival the empire!

Instructions:

Left Click the center space station to start a delivery route. Click planets along the path to plan the route for your selected truck. The route must connect back to the space station in some way. You can include the same planet in a route more than once. When the route is finished find a path back to the space station and click the space station to start the truck route.

WASD - Move the Camera View

Middle Wheel - Zoom In/Out

Right Click a yellow selected planet to deselect that planet from the end of a route during planning.

Right Click the space station during planning to erase the plan and stop planning.

The amount that a delivery is worth is labeled on each planet. The longer a planet goes without a delivery the higher they will pay for one.

There are two trucks. The base truck is cheaper but costs less. The S truck goes faster but is more expensive.

When a truck is on a route it will cost money to run and will be deducted while the truck is on route. Balance this with the profit from delivery.

And go ahead, send out your fleet, put the game tab in the background, go play some other LD games, come back whenever, and see all the profits you've made while idle.

A fun game but hard to understand how to get going first and pace of the game is pretty slow, but overall pretty fun and interesting idea

I feel like there's a lot to explore in terms of additional mechanics with this concept, well done!

Very nice entry to play idle, I had it for a while in a tab and had fun. Fits the theme as well, music was soothing.
Great work!!!!!! 👍👏

Few thoughts.
First up, the pacing was kind of a turn off. I get that it's supposed to be slow, but it's so slow that it almost felt unfun at the start. Echoing @thefisherbird's comment on controls here: they feel a bit wonky, and I had to reread the instructions a few times to understand what to do.

It might also be worth noting that there's a limit to how much a planets payout rate can go to, without knowing that it can feel like you're only ever going to lose money past a certain point.

Also, a small bug: You can sell an infinite number of trucks you don't have for free money.

Found myself playing longer than I needed to. I wish there were more planets to ship between and make interesting routes with, then maybe some further progression. Aesthetics hit decently, not bad!

Nice game! It is a bit too easy, there is no challenge in this game. Here you could add some Disasters, like space pirates.
However I like the Ambient of the game. Especially the sound track fits very well.
The graphics match also perfectly in the game.

And I don't think its too slow, however some more upgrade possibilities would be nice.

you know, I almost didn't play this, but I did. I spent almost 40 minutes playing. I had 8 ships, and over $500,000 dollars.

I just didn't understand why I couldn't get the planets that did not have a direct route. I got it to work a couple of times, but most of the time I just could not get the route to work.

How do I do that?

By the way the graphics were exceptional, the music phenomenal, the game play was very very good

Wow, this game is beautiful! I love the parallax gas clouds, stars, and floating debris. The music fits perfectly. The gameplay took me a few minutes to figure out, but I actually really like how the waypoint queues work. Would love to see you add more to this one after the jam!

Awesome submission. I appreciate that it's meant to take a while so you can just go back to it every now and then, though I think I'd prefer to choose some sort of fast mode or something where I can play more in real time. The balance of losing money as the trucks move with earning income each time a planet is hit seems like it could take a lot of strategy. With more time it would be cool to see that balanced really well.
