You worked as in interspatial delivery fella for a while now, however, as you were delivering today's package you realized that the client has ordered... you! Run for your life and not get delivered at all costs!
WASD - run

Mash Left Mouse while grappling - pull
Gain points by shooting down enemies.




Wanted to put WAY more in the game, but in the end barely made it playable (and on-theme). The time was tight. Was fun nevertheless :D

@0x-void-x0 Visually, island merging s actually very simple. Each island is drawn using this texture with additive blendmode so that when several textures overlap they boost each other's brightness. It's basically simple lights.

Then, I feed this to a shader that looks at each pixel's brightness and assigns it a color. This gives it the merging effect, with most work dome by additive blending.
The collisions, however... They sucked big time. While the rendering was done in an hour, getting islands to work, not explode and keep the player in took a full day. In short, the islands jsut pull player into last interacted island when he's not standing on anything. However, this also required a ton of fine-tuning, which I can't really explain, it's *magic*.
I also realy liked how the artstyle, it's clean and visually easy to read while it all together really looked nice!

The game loop was pretty flawless too, escape the big invincible but slower than you monster while grappling the world around you and try not to get stunned by its minions, and shoot them for points (y).
A fun game with lots of potential, I can also see that with a multiplayer mode being extremely fun (and then add like a quest to do somethingm either there are islands that cant be formed or there is an objective to reach or multiple objectives to bring together by joining their islands and them communicate with team members who distracts the monster when (and you attract it's attention once you're near to the objectives and complete with minimap and everything)

I wish there was a little more polish on certain features. Lack of audio hurts. the boss is a little half done and the grappling and shooting mechanics could use a second pass to get them really feeling good, but those are all small complaints, I really really like this game and it was a blast to play.

what an original idea! great game had a lot of fun! you can add custom objectives to the game and I think the spiderman moos should stay!
Though I ran into a bug where two blobs were clearly joined but I was still getting repelled.
