Date villagers as a race car! Date your way through a secret base! Infiltrate your way through an alien invasion! Win a race with a space ship!

In Level Delivery System you select one of four playable characters to play in one of four different levels.

Level Delivery System was with Godot, Aseprite and Chiptone by Le Don.

Controls:

  • Use drag and drop to place a character to a level

  • Arrow keys to move up, down, left and right

  • Space bar for the special abilities of the characters

Special Abilities

  • Race car: Speed boost for 2 seconds, also making it invulnerable

  • Space ship: Shoot lasers

  • Stealth guy: Backstabbing

  • Dave: Dating

Known problems:

  • It seems being spotted in the stealth level as Dave while also starting a dialog at the same time might lead to the main menu not responding.

Cut content:

  • I originally planed to to have a score system and to keep track of every combination the player beat the levels with the characters. The "true ending" would be to beat every level with every character or at least.

I like the idea of having wildly different characters that can complete every level in some way, very ambitious for a solo jam! Unfortunately I ran into a bug where the game would freeze when I got hit or completed a level and I had to reload to continue playing. Here is what the console [looked like](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1p07vzdcieSu2ILlyDL0gCbvBvQFooKJX/view) if that helps.

@jebouin Hi, thank you for your feedback, much appreciated! Honestly, I don't know why this is happening :>. I can replicate the error on the web and windows build, but it does not happen when testing debugging. I will definitely look into this.

@jebouin Hey, I was able to fix the problem and the game should now fine and as intended... hopefully :>.

For anyone using Godot: Turns out, you have to tell Godot explicitly to export json files. Didn't know that one.

I liked the minimalist art and It's great that added many different gameplay (very ambitious considering the jam's deadline).

It's not clear in the game what the Special Ability does in the game due the lack of some animation or effect. Add these little details would help a lot to improve the player's satisfaction.

One tip: generally in game like this (composed of some minigames), It's common organize them to play in sequence one after other, with no need for player commands, like the Wario Ware minigames.

Good job!

Four games in one! What's not to like? High marks for innovation. The racing game is quite challenging and fun to play.

This is incredibly clever as a concept, although some in-game signposting indicating you should drag and drop characters might be smart! I didn't go to read the description until after I'd played a bit. Doing the levels with different characters was hilarious though.

Allowing the player to play each level with any character is an awesome idea. This could be a really interesting game if it were further developed. Great job making a really unique game for LD.

Also, Dave is the man!

I think you are crazy. Implementing 4 different gameplays, with 4 different levels that can be played with any character seems like an impossible task for a jam. Yet you made it. It might not be the best looking game I've seen this jam but it's definitely the more inventive!

Very fun idea! It was quite fun to bring different chacters to the different levels and see what you could do there :)

Very innovative! I like the idea of having different abilities that you can mix and match with different types of gameplay. This was probably a pretty difficult scope to finish in time, though.

Dave is invincible! lol very fun game. tbh I want to play as Dave in all games from now on...Race car ability is super nice. And space ship on race track very fun...
(Updated this)I was getting a bug with Dave? on stealth level if dave looses, when back to menu the play buttons doesn't work. I think the other thing I thought was a game freeze is actually because if yoiu loose you need to hit enter to go back to main menu, but I was trying to left click to go back to the menu. So maybe just needs to happen automatic or on any button press/mouse press...

First I came here because of your profil picture. Second I came here because I like minimalist graphics. Thrird I stayed here because I enjoy minigames. Finally I can say that you made a solid entry with some good ideas - especially the Secret Base Zeta which is really well done with a good retro vibe. The mechanics work well as expected - and you managed the theme with an unusual way. Great. Maybe more sounds could be better? Thank you for this entry. I wish you the best ++

A fantastic entry. Seemed a little bit confusing at first, but discovering what is it about and how it works was fun.

And funny! Going through the Secret Base Zeta as Dave made me smile all the way, but winning the Space Battle Delta by going on a date with the alien overlord made me laugh out loud. I played the Starlight Farm as the Stealth Guy and I was just as confused as he was - zero backstabbing? But it all made perfect sense in the end.

I love the visual style, reminds me of old Atari games. Also, making four playable minigames for a gamejam is really impressive on its own, making it so you have 4 separate characters and playstyles for each of them is even more so. Well done!

Idk why but I like it, however it's a rarity to see minigames.
1 lvl - interesting (upper way is easier);
2 - no difficulties;
3 - funny end, (easy abuse gliding along the top edge);
4 - non terrae plus ultra

I love the retro art style. The concept of manipulating levels by choosing different characters is very interesting, it may be a little to obvious which character fits certain missions, but it doesn't change the fact that the game is really fun and playable. Every different level is basically a different type of game, which is quite impresive. Overall great work my friend.
