Internet Delivery Y2K by Reulan

[raw]
made by Reulan for Ludum Dare 53 (JAM)

Delivering internet to neighborhoods, cities and cabins, and evolving your Internet Service Provider datacenter infrastructure along the way.

Inspired by 4X games and a reflection on how internet speeds have increased over the past decades. We wanted to show our love for the internet and it's various different forms over the years and mix it with a new type of game genre we hadn't done be fore.

Maybe a different but abstract way of thinking of Delivery.

Gameplay: - Build 1 of 3 different Datacenters adjacent to cabins, towns and cities. Depending on what buildings your datacenter is adjacent to you will gain income. - 6 upgrades to increase effectiveness of different types of datacenters. - Get to 20,000 to win! - If you run out of money you will lose. - Mouse over a datacenter, or press the "Info" button to see information about how much money you are making.

Pretty good little simulation/strategy game with a very unique take on the theme!

Clever use of the theme and a cool game! I did have an issue where I clicked through the UI a few times on accident and something was built, but the mechanics were cool and I love taking on a 4X style for a game jam!

Had some issues clicking through the UI but this was a cool concept, I'd love to see it fleshed out some more!

Interesting strategy game, was easy to get into. As other have said, a few problems with the UI. I wish there were a dynamic map or a randomly generated one, or even just more maps!
