Monsters In The Woods - Made With GameMaker

Pretty short game. First time participating in Ludum Dare.
There's not much gameplay, but you might need to play it more than once to really get it.

Tip: there's something different about those blue guys.

The GAME (.exe) and the SOURCE CODE (GAME MAKER PROJECT) are included in the .zip folder in the windows download.

Thank You for playing!

I liked it overall, there wasn't much innovation or anything new though, the gameplay was fun and I enjoyed the platforming somewhat (not so much the shooting), I thought it didn't really go hand in hand with the theme though, I got that the whole idea was they were nothing but innocent creatures but I felt that without the text at the end you wouldn't have gotten that at all, it would have been a lot better with a soundtrack which would have helped the mood out a lot, good entry overall, good job.

A cute little platformer, but the end message isn't really connect to the rest of the game. Love the art style, and platforming mechanics feel good!

"You have a gun so you must be the player" - ha! Loved it, also the subliminal message hidden on the "monsters" :) Good graphics and solid first entry!

Very funny, not sure why I shot them to begin with, I guess I am a monster. Why have you opted out of graphics?

I opted out of graphics because i thought the animations were a bit bad. Come to think of it, i really shouldn't have opted out :D. Thank you all for playing and commenting!

Avira antivirus reports a virus in the .exe . I'm sure it's nothing. Just letting you know.

Liked the graphics and animation a lot. Short, but that made it easy to play through for both endings. Nice work!

Congrats on your first LD game. I enjoyed it and played through it twice, the first time just blindly killing the poor blue men. Great visuals and no bugs!

I..totally liked it! I played it through twice to get both endings and I think it's cute to way you play off the assumption of a gamer's mind (shoot all the things) and actually reward when we don't do what it seems for us to want to do...I like it, and as your first Ludum game, awesome!

To be honest, I do tend to agree with those who feel the game didn't really use the theme to the best of its ability, however I do appreciate the time and effort it took to make the animation, the gameplay and the concept.

I played through the game a second time after becoming a monster, and was relieved to see that I wasn't as monstrous as I could be.

Good work :D

Good game, the graphics were nice but the game was a bit static. Some more animations or perhaps have some parallaxing would add to the game.

I really liked the art style of this game. everything looked nice and polished. The controls were tight and responsive, which was good too.

It seems like you had something bigger in mind but then ran out of time -- I think that happens to most of us in Ludum Dare. Maybe you could write you intentions in the description? I know not everyone reads the description, but I do!

Not bad for your first Ludum Dare. Obviously the gameplay isn't very deep, but it was short and funny. Decent art and sound effects, but I kinda wish there was some music.

nice animation and shooting, had some trouble with jumping, maybe you should let your character jump a little after the edge (in the air) for better feel.
