Shot Speed Delivery by Paulsams

[raw]
made by Paulsams for Ludum Dare 53 (JAM)

Welcome to Shot speed delivery corporation! You are our new Promotion Manager. Set up an interplanetary delivery network using the advanced technologies of the Shot speed delivery corporation! Build colonies and deliver cargos at the speed of a shot with the Shot speed delivery corporation!

Hints:

  • If it is not clear where to shoot the cannon: you need to * click * on the map of the solar system on the planet you need and see there a picture of the constellation with a cross. The cross will indicate where it is in shooting mode. That is, you need to find a constellation and a specific place to shoot.

Interesting idea. Nice art and sounds. I'm confused by map for delivery. Maybe need to do delivery map more zoom and details.

I don't get how the zoomed in map helps you aim the cannon, i can't see where the planets on the zoomed in map are in the large one?? very brave making a game this complex in a jam!

Pretty incredible what a complicated system people can build in 3 days! Amazing stuff! However, I couldn't really understand how to play, got pretty confused with all the tutorial (although I went back to it 3 times) and eventually managed to shoot a capsule into the void lol I would make a tutorial level with step-by-step guide on how to play, I think in such game it's essential.
Great job, kudos to the programmer/s! Nice are style too!
Also, why did you opt-out of the audio category? I like the BG music a lot!

Interesting concepts happening here with managing the deliveries and having to aim for the right area. There isn't really a reason I found to go to other areas except for the first two planets unless I were to run out of space for new houses. It's very tedious and a lot of clicks to do everything even having to hit continue after I shoot the rocket (the art and everything inside the rocket is nice though). I would have liked some kind of goal to work towards as money seemed simple enough to earn as long as you just went back and forth between the starting planets. Only had to memorize and alternate the two constellation paths.

Incredible work! It took me some time to learn how to play, but once I got it I couldn't stop playing! I just wish there was a more concrete goal (maybe something like "colonize the sun!")
I got a bit annoyed when the capsules destroyed my houses even though I had the platform thing haha
But very impressive! Amazing job in three days

Cool implementation. I really liked that in addition to delivering packages between planets or cities, you also have to search for them on the star map. Although it was difficult to figure it out at first.

In just 72 hours, just a huge job was done, just wow. At the beginning, you need to think a little to understand the game, but then it becomes pleasant to play.

@ciderpunk @bmanstudio Yes, I agree that the tutorial turned out to be very crumpled. If there are free time, we will try to improve it and make it more understandable - especially with part of the flights. So far, at least I've added a hint to the description of the game - maybe it will be better.

@bmanstudio And the category of sounds was specially removed, because we just found ready-made music, that is, we didn’t write it ourselves and there are no sounds in the game either.

@cody-holt @tomas-paim Hm... Indeed, the game lacks a goal. For some reason, the team and I did not think in this direction at the beginning of the design of the idea, although I now understand that this is very important for the player and it was worth thinking about it at the very beginning). Thanks for the advice - next time we will try more in this regard.

@cody-holt And about the fact that money is easy to get: otherwise player would save money for a very long time, and then the capsule falls on the cannon and completely ruins everything, and few people like this on gamejam: if we talk directly about the final product, then of course there the economy should be made slower so that there are goals to create colonies on other planets.

It's impressive how complex this game is, and it took me some time to figure out what I needed to do even with the tutorial. Thanks to the description, things were cleared up for me.

I really like the graphics and the music, which fit perfectly.

After getting the hang of it, the game is great. Great job!

The complexity is astounding to me. The beginning is a bit rough for a fist time player until you get a hang of it but after getting over the hurdle of learning the controlls it feels quite smooth. I liked the chill music in the background a lot. I do have to say that some of the controls chosen felt a bit unnatural in the beginning and I found myself clicking with the worong mous button a lot, but i don't have an idea on how to chang that myself. Really impressive thou for 72 hours. Cheers

@gordienkogames Yes, that's right. We made this game in three people and in 3 days from scratch. We just took only pause and main menu scripts from past game jams -- but everything else was done from scratch).

Well, only the magnet was added and UI/UX edits were fixed just me on the fourth day after spending a couple of hours, but on itch.io there is a build that is without these things (that is, there is a build made within 3 days (but with few bugs fixed), but the economy is a more complicated and the training is no longer clear) -- but in general you can make sure that it was done in 3 days. ^_^

Great game! Very impressive. Love the UIs and gameplay. A little bit hard to understand what to do at the beginning due to the complexity... The tutorial at the beginning is informational, it'd be even better to include steps that the player needs to do in order~

Nice game! I like the idea, after getting over the initial confusion it plays really well.
Sometimes there are some gliches with displaying buildings infront of another
