If BEAT 'N' DEAD promised to give a show to their fans, they will give it to them. Don't miss what might be BEAT 'N' DEAD's last concert. It looks like there will be a few free riders at the concert and space at this concert will be extremely limited.

Here are a few rules that will help you succeed in our game:

  • Use [right arrow] [D] for push zombies to right
  • Use [left arrow] [A] for push zombies to left
  • Get into the rhythm using any of the keys
  • Collect combos by falling into rhythm several times in a row.
  • By increasing your combo you increase your damage and your final score.

fun fact: when one of the band members dies, they actually stop playing their part of the music

Love the zombie song! Super fun. Was a little confused on if I was playing good or bad? Or if the Zombies were supposed to be hard to prevent. Maybe I didn't get far enough. Cute game though!

What a fun concept! It was a little hard to know when to hit the buttons to be precise (not quite with the beat maybe?) but my guesswork seemed to work alright. That song slaps!

Song was great, streaks seemed to be hard to maintain, was not sure on when to hit the keys, overall I like the game, art was great!

Fun game, really liked the music, fun concept. Took me a while to realize I should only be doing one input as I kept trying to do both at the same time, which admittedly let me go on for a good while but didn't score me much points xD

Cool music, really funny that as the band members are eaten then instruments/vocals stop, and the style is cool and looks very good. I was confused by the "Streak" system for quite a while but think I picked it up after a while. For quite a while I just survived by hitting both buttons on the beat which gave me no streak (I guess due to unnecessary hits) but my score kept going up and zombies kept dying so I wasn't really punished for my bad spammy strategy haha. Very cool looking and sounding game!

I like the concept and the music. The setting was really well put together. I found myself just spamming the right and left keys to survive. Of course this just gave me a lousy score, but having some kind of penalty for not hitting the key on beat, like you freeze or the zombies dash a bit, will give the player more incentive to play correctly. This is an impressive entry though, especially for a jam! Great work.

Hilarious idea! I love rhythm games but they are hard to get right when it comes to the timing. I think that is what could need to be worked on more but overall very fun experience!

Don't normally like rhythm games, but this was really fun! Nice graphics, and I like the way the music changed as band members were killed off :rofl: Excellent work!

It seemed to me that the rhythm to click was off beat. Still a cool idea and the song was nice.
I'm not gonna rate you on graphics due to the assets, you can exclude rating categories when publishing :)

Really cool music features, I like the character designs as well (but it would be cool to get a closer look at the models in-game). I did find the precise timing on when I need to push the keys a bit strange, maybe its just me but it seems like the UI is a bit too blocky? Good stuff regardless.

I've played in it like a clicker, just press keys to push zombies. When I tried to press in rhythm, I always miss a lot of zombies and they ate me.
Visual and audio part is great.

@kujoen Thanks for playing! We use assets only for props. 3d models for band and zombies + animations made by us. Because of this, we did not exclude the art from the ratings.

I didn't really understand if I should be timing the rhythm markers or just spam to kill the zombies. I got 225 and made it to the end, but don't know if that's good.

Very nice rhythm game and well polished for a LD game. Did you create the music during the event? I tried to stick to the rhythm and it mostly worked (although I'm bad), but I also tried just mashing the buttons as quickly as I could and it also seemed to work, is there no penalty for missing a note? Also, the music bar seemed to slowly wiggle itself out of frame :D

It's interesting when zombies eat musician and the music changes. In one of the attempts, I only had a drummer left, it was funny. Nice!

yes, all the sounds (which we never managed to add to the game) and music were created during the jam by the sound designer

Yes, such a bug still remains, but it was discovered after the release of the game.

The concept is very neat - one of the music tracks fading away when a band member dies is a great way to communicate I've taken damage through audio (and it's funny)


I will agree it feels like there should be a bigger penalty for spamming, but overall this is a pretty fun take on the theme!
