Squeeze & Steal

You embark on a daring museum heist. Navigate a 2D top-down grid map of a museum, dodging guards in real-time stealth gameplay. Your goal? To snatch invaluable artifacts. But here's the catch: when you open your bag to arrange the stolen treasures, you're faced with a 'limited space' puzzle challenge. As you become engrossed in maximizing this space, you lose sight of the active map. The game doesn't pause; it goes on in the background, amplifying the tension as you risk being caught.

HOW TO PLAY

Clever use of the them and a fun experience overall! The music fits it a lot too.

Surprisingly challenging, this is basically the Payday 3 of LD 54. Also you can softlock the game if you get caught by a guard while in your bag (if you didn't alarm them before going into your bag).

yeah that bug got me many times. it is very hectic once you're in the inventory management state and i enjoy that a lot, but the movement does leave quite a lot to be desired. the stealth didn't engage me much

Nice game. Movement was a bit basic but definitely worth a play.

Nice little stealth game. I like how the game continues as you're trying to stuff things into your loot sack. It makes it much more stressful when you're trying to snag things close to guards, and you have to quickly fit them into the bag. Good work!

Fun game! It was fun to move things around in the final seconds of the game. It would be nice to just let the character move a little faster.

Nice job, cool that you had to implement a pretty good detection mechanic for the guards. :D

Simply lovely. Cool combination of stealth, sneaky moves, sprinting and managing your inventory. I felt so stressed trying to fit all the wares I stole into my pocket while the guards were closing in on me. Cool entry, keep up the good work.

It's a great take on the theme. The biggest (and practically the only) flaw is this cruel restart to level 1. In general, LD people who will make effort to replay the game from level 1 are rare. But it was enjoyable while it lasted, it's time limit on level 2 and full restart that got to me.

As previous comments said, the restart at level 1 was a bit too harsh. Otherwise it was a great game, solid guard detection and sneak mechanics.

I liked the fact that the game continued while in the bag and that it was transparent so you could see guards approaching while reordering your goods.

Good job!

Really nice idea with adding the sorting bag element to the stealth game. The detection zone for the guards seems larger than the graphics would indicate and maybe some actual audio feedback when sprinting would help get the message across that it's a risky move, but those are only small details.

Nice entry !
I love a good burglary game :p
Cool idea to let the game continue while we are stuffing stuff inside our bag :)
