Hearing confessions from every sinner in the cramped confession room is a daily routine for you. Day after day, it feels like nothing ever changes. Will things be different this time?

candel_animation.gif The most critical aspect is to listen attentively to the confession. Everything else, you must figure out on your own. Hearing heart-wrenching stories and uncovering mysteries in the Confession Room... However, the danger is closing in on you, can you find out what it is?

I really like the graphics and the effort put in dialogue. It's a little frustrating to have to start over after a mistake, but it's a nice experience overall.

Very nice game, I liked how many choices and directions it seemed like you could get, played through twice, lots of fun!

Neat game!

I have to confess that I passed through the first scene cold-bloodly several times for not recognizing what's on the ground XD

The story really pulled me in. I have to admit, I couldn't see the young boy in the first scene. I just pressed space because I didn't know what else to do. That was the only time I got confused though. Got to the nice ending on the third try.

Nice music and great art!

The piano music is so perfectly beautiful and melancholy.

I love the way you visualize the controls in the menu.

The writing is deep and on point! Really strong and emotionally rich.

From a user interface standpoint, I wish I could play the game in full screen for even more immersion.

Wow really nice game! It gives me paper please vibes for some reason. I think it might have potential. The stories were interesting, and I liked the twists, especially with the granny haha The only funny thing is that I first saw the tutorial and it showed how to pat a cat. On the first scene I thought the boy was a cat so I pated him quite a few times and then proceeded to the next scene where I was proclaimed COLD BLOODED:D ahhaha

Thank you all so much for your love for this game!! ❤️
Plan on these features rn, and maybe we'll update after the jam:
- Guidance on where to interact in the first scene (no more unintentionally cold-blooded)
- Fullscreen
- Add more mutations in the conversation

A great story! Liked the touch with trembling letters. It would be nice to have some more interactive enviroment objects to deduce elements of the story. But nevertheless a very nice little game!

I really liked this take on the theme! It is very different than any other game I have played in this jam and I enjoyed it a lot. Your writing was very good and highlighted by the trembling letters and smart use of half-sentences to create some tension. The story itself was also intruiging, and it was a lot of fun trying to figure out what was going on and choosing the appropriate responses. Although I must confess that I did not fully understand what was going on in the end.

Really nice and creative submission! Great job :D

The game instantly drew me in with the mystery tbh, I got invested right away! Would love to have more ^^

Graphics are also beautiful and really fit the game.

I like the jumping letters. They add to the feeling of the words, that's chilling sometimes!

The only thing I kinda caught myself thinking about- I know the priest already saw the girl, but when they were in the confessional they were discussing the ribbon as if he could look at it at the moment. Maybe that's just my impression, but maybe it could be tweaked a little.

If there was an option to check the previous phrase, that would be really cool, as I clicked accidentally a few times, skipping the line :( I am not sure how difficult it will be to code, but if you could, I think that would be very helpful ^^
At the same time it seems sometime the text scrolled back by itself? Maybe to give me an opportunity to make a better choice? It happened with granny. My first story was with a girl, with a good (I think) ending (I didn't tell her where the boy was and he seemed to be safe), and nothing like this happened. But with granny, several times the conversation rolled several sentences back.

My main confession is that I am apparently a really cold blooded killer, the game said so over and over!

Honestly, nothing that I would have expected to see. I love the graphics here and I feel the faces were effective. Also the tales were interesting, I really liked the not so obvious morals here, how you need not to be judgemental just always care for the people. Empathy is indeed a very underdeveloped mechanic in games, or so it feels sometimes.

Loved this idea! The detective plot was very relevant, it was interesting to read, and in general to play the role of a priest. Funny thing: at the very beginning I thought that there was a dog lying on the ground. I decided to just pet her and move on, thereby ending the game.

Really interesting story, the visuals in the confession room are especially great.
Something weird happened during my 2nd playthrough where there were 2 choice boxes constantly in the background during dialogue. Would've also liked to be able to change my choices with WASD.
Still this was a very nice experience, congrats on submission!

This was a lot of fun!

The game could use a little polish when it comes to interactions (I sat over the boy holding F for a minute or two because I thought I was healing them) but that's only a minor nitpick, the story/art more than made up for it.

Great work! These kinds of LD games are probably the ones I enjoy the most

Great job making a compelling story with thoughtful dialogue choices! I would have liked to be able to skip the first scene and start again from the room with the old lady and the little girl when I made a mistake, just so I could progress in the story a bit faster
