InvenStory by pro4

Gameplay
InvenStory is a story-driven inventory management game where you need to pack as many items as possible into the adventurer's limited bag space! You will help the adventurers Zofra, Tiberius, and Goldie accomplish their difficult tasks by listening to their stories and trying to pack their bags with the best items for them.

NOTE There is a known issue with Godot 4 exports for MacOS browsers. If you have issues playing the game in the browser on itch, use the attached MacOS download.
Controls
- Left Mouse: Drag and drop items
- R Key: Rotate items while dragging
The dialog window can be advanced by clicking green words to get more information. Words highlighted in orange are very specific hints to the type of items the adventurer is looking to have packed in their bags. While there may be a minimum item count, adventurers are expecting you to do your best! But don't worry if you fail to pack their bags correctly, they will give you more information so you can try again to pack it better next time.
Items exist in the bottom right in the guild inventory. You can drag the item's icon from the guild inventory using the left mouse button. Drag the item from the guild inventory over to the adventurer's bag space and release left mouse to drop the item in place. If you need to rotate the item, press the "R" key while dragging the item.

I'm not the best at solving puzzles but I really liked trying many times (poor Tiberius lost a GOOD chunk of hair, should have bought hair care product from the local potion maker instead of doing a ritual) . It is really satisfying when you find the correct way to help customers.
I will play again to go even further.
Great work !
I will admit, I spent ~20minutes on the Zombie Emu problem, no matter what I did I couldn't get it to work. I'm guessing I should have moved the flags to the middle, but oh well! :P
Nice work!
I believe a button to empty the whole bag would be useful, and I had some issues where I was dropping the item in an empty spot and it would disappear as if it didn't have enough space, the mouse controls are very finnicky.
Other than that, great experience!
Tho idk what was her mission in town and why is she so bloody. But maybe she is not secretly a mass murderer, right?

Good job!
Music, art and game design are to be congratulated, the fact that the game starts by showing you exactly what the character needs and as you pass the stages it just gives you tips, it's a great treat for those who like challenges, some of these took me more than 30 minutes

I loved the fact that, if you make a mistake, the character comes back to you with bruises and a disappointed face, really a fun and complete game!
I'd happily buy this on Steam! Please make this into a pull game, wow! The pixel art is cute and I like how disappointed they are when then return after you failed them hehe!
The graphics are really good, and the sound and music set the mood perfectly.
I loved when Goldie came back shot full of arrows! HAHA! Amazing attention to details!
Anyway, it's a really solid entry with a fun gameplay and appealing art. Great atmosphere and mood. Well done!
There is not much to critizise about the game. The base loop works really well and fiction is wrapped nicely around it. My only major nitpick is that the instructions sometimes do not feel fair to the player. There probably should be extra tips after a failed delivery so the player does not have to keep trying and trying if they are not getting the requirement of the mission.
But other than that, very solid game!
The music could use some upgrades since that'd bring a whole lot of depth to the game. Right now it feels a bit bland/static/repetitive(?) which is not what the gameplay and art is!
Amazing entry!
- I would have liked to hear some more sound effects aside from the background music
- Sometimes I felt the items did not follow my cursor in the way I would expect. Led to a lot of missed clicks
