Bon Voyage by binroot

With limited space on a lifeboat, what cast of characters will you rescue?
Controls:
- Mouse click and hover
How to play:
- Rescue passengers based on your best moral judgement
- Then, watch your survivors rough it out
How to win:
- Select the best combination of people (and in the best order) so that they survive on the island for the longest number of days (my record: 24 days)
- Lean back, and watch the drama unfold
Tools:
Details (spoilers):
- There are 20 passengers: convict, circus monkey, vampire, aristocrat, fortune teller, duck, woman, child, grandma, orphan, fisherman, chef, doctor, lumber jack, cowboy, sailor, opera singer, dog, and seamstress.
- Some passengers know how to cook, some know how to fish, and some can fight. No one has all skills, so collaboration is essential for survival.
- Passengers may trade resources at the market.

Overall idea is fun and humorous, fits the theme well, I especially liked the first part of doing the choosing and would prefer more interactivity in the second half or at least some scoresheets with fates of everyone.
There's also a small bug where Game Over screen keeps on adding days the crew have survived.
...took a dive.
Also Grandma OP, she lasted like 2 weeks on her own! Grandmas are the strongest beings in the universe!
Pretty much everybody died right away, the first character was dead before the ship sand completely. They caught a few fish for the doctor to prepare though, so he lived through most of that month all by himself.
I noticed while typing this that the day counter doesnt seem to stop in the game over screen, it was suddenly on 35 days.
TBH I had no idea what I was doing and for those few seconds where everyone was not quite dead yes the web version lagged alot. Maybe having the characters live longer is a funnier experience, but the general idea isnt bad either way.
Then everyone except the seamstress joined the RIP party.
It was the day 3... the seamstress was the sole survivor.
And then, a miracle happened: they lasted for 20 days!
But seriously, it was hard to understand what was going on. xD
The event log idea suggested by @don-shinski could help a lot here for sure.
Even if the game simulates some complicated things, we players have little chances of appreciating it. :D
I loved the idea though.

I had no performance problems in firefox.
As others said, you do have a few tasks going on, a live blog would be interesting, since you can't do much else.
Opera Girl stumbled over a shell and broke her neck.
Kid got a heart attack as his mobile died.
Made it 13 days!
If you take the game further post-jam, would love to see it :)
