Until You Make It by TiedToAnAlien

[raw]
made by TiedToAnAlien for Ludum Dare 54 (JAM)

'Until You Make It' is a game where you find yourself in a tavern surrounded by strong champions, but you yourself lack the strength to match. So, of course when they start sharing stories, you only have one option.

Lie.

CONTROLS - WASD - Move RMB - Attack Space - Dodge

This our first gamejam aswell as our first game together, we are trying to learn and improve so any feedback is appreciated. We were going for a bit of a madlibs meets roguelike style game, but scope creep and energy drain left us a bit haggard towards the end. Regardless this was a really fun experience and was definitely a great learning experience.

The webGL version doesn't work, this is likely because you zipped the folder instead of zipping the contents of the folder directly :)

Firstup: Your embedded version doesn't work, if you weren't aware! Secondly: I am so happy that you went with this concept. While I was lying my ass off I genuinely thought "I wonder if this comes back to bite me" - and it did! Really cool idea but also completeeeely unfit for a game-jam lol. And this gets obvious in the gameplay - half the time I don't know what's even going on because the combat is just too messy. The initial part of the lying with the close-ups on the faces looked really really polished tho!
Overall, very fun idea and very out-of-scope .-. I hope you'll jam again!

That was nice as hell !
So much variety and different type of gameplay. You went a bit far from the theme but I love the idea. I thought it was a visual novel and NO ! BOOM : fight to survive !! It was fun.

Hi !

Nice way to cook your own experience with the dialogue at the start, really liked that.
Combat gameplay needs more work but the concept is working, as you said you probably scoped too large for a three day jam, but you did well in such a small amount of time.

Good job !

This is so cool!! I thought the mad libs were fun but I gasped when the battle began.
I would definitely play a more fleshed out version of this, with increasingly absurd enemies and abilities.
