Fit by mahalis

Fit is an arcade game where you try to fit through the gaps in a series of incoming rings. You can always get through with a single pin (if you line it up right), but you earn more points if you get several through at once—and every 100 points you can earn back a life.
As you can hopefully tell from what it looks like, I was going for a TRON Legacy vibe—turns out that’s hard to do! My laptop seems to handle it okay, but if you have performance issues please let me know and I can look into making a potato-ier version. Similarly, it’s meant to have gamepad support but my gamepad is busted so I have no idea whether that’s working either. Holler if that needs fixing and I’ll try to dig up a less busted one.
Controls - move: keyboard left/right or A/D, gamepad left stick - switch pins: keyboard up/down or W/S, gamepad right stick - pause: Escape, P, or a gamepad middle button
Tools used - Unreal Engine (making the game) - Cinema 4D (modeling, layout / previz, vector art for the instructions) - Houdini (modeling and UVing the tunnel) - Substance Designer (tunnel textures, distance-field conversion for UI textures) - my phone and iOS’s Voice Memos (recording the sounds), Audacity (editing the sounds) - a small bar chime and a box of tomato soup (making the sounds)

On a note about difficulty, I think you could copy an idea from super-hexagon, that being the number of obstacles/edges changes as the game progresses.
@alexis8 and @ex3d0, you’re not the only ones who’ve told me the controls feel backwards… it’s kind of ambiguous whether you’re rotating it from the top or the bottom, or for that matter whether you’re rotating yourself or the entire tunnel. If I do a post-jam version, an option to invert the controls will definitely be in there.
@subsage / @jellycopter, I had plans for adding more gameplay wrinkles as it went on, like changing your available pins from a simple 1–2–3 to different sets with different-sized gaps in them… but there was no time, I barely managed to tune the gameplay as it was  Again, hopefully in a post-jam version once I have the energy for that.
controls felt backwards to me too which got me a couple times
my best score was 950
I liked the game idea and had fun playing it. The gradual speed-up is enough to make it challenging. On the execution side, however, I was confused because I had to press Right on the keyboard to go to the left, and that was frustrating because I had to mentally map these opposites, and my last-second dodges almost always failed.
Good job, looking forward to play your next games :)
