Cat Escape by Micah Harker

[raw]
made by Micah Harker for Ludum Dare 54 (JAM)

This was my first game jam, and it taught me a lot about scope and time management. I am proud of being able to incorporate some controls and obstacles that I wanted, but it would've been better if I could flesh out the item system and level design more. I do feel like I gained some more knowledge and skills with Godot engine and coding so that's a win. Overall, I got a silly game at the end.

No audio :(

Controls:

A/D: (left and right)

Space: (jump)

Item follows mouse movement

Left Click: (use pickup item)

Hard game, but brings back memories of those rage games XDD. Maybe I am just not good at playing it XD.

I concur, it does feel hard, but that's probably because I am bad at platformers. I think some little sound effects would have given a lot uumpf to it, but a good start!

Cute cat! I liked the idea of pickups that you use with the mouse. Think this could've been pretty cool if you'd had more time to work on levels. No audio, but how come you opted out of ratings in all the other categories too? :( Graphics were clear if unpolished with the varying pixel sizes, no doubt as to what I needed to do. Still I only figured out through experimentation that I needed to use the mouse and not just the keyboard, so would be good to add that to the description~

Can we get more silly than this? (◕દ◕)

Decent game. It would have been nice if the right and left arrow keys worked (instead of just the left hand keys), since I kept missing the jump because I pressed the wrong keys.

Thanks for the feedback, I updated the description to include controls and opted into ratings. I did not realize I had opted out of them lol.
