The art is genuinely amazing, I love The Guy he's just like me for real.

The game is slow, simple, and there's not much to spice things up. In a lot of way it is just like a real job. Just like a real job, at no point I was in any real risk of losing it myself, as I was doing very well, but throughout the experience I felt like I wanted to quit.

I then went on to start the game again and not do anything, and so, just like a real job, I realized that it didn't really matter in the greater scheme of things whether I did it or not, at the end of the day it was fine, and I still got my pay, even if the trucks were all leaving empty.

This is the first time I "quiet quit" a game.

The game looks, sounds and controls wonderfully (to my surprise, as seeing the control layout confused me for a while,) but unfortunately it suffers in design. There is no reward for, or even definition of good gameplay. During my first playthrough, I noticed that it really didn't matter how many boxes I managed to fit inside the truck, so I thought that I just needed to avoid letting the warehouse fill up, but that doesn't pose a threat either until the fifth day. My health might go down from a few boxes colliding, but it will regenerate and there'll be no further consequence, and that ends up depriving the game of goal.

Higher stakes would do this game wonders. Even something as small as requiring the trucks to leave with a certain amount of boxes, or a certain weight, would help encourage the player to work quickly and efficiently. This has a lot of potential to be a frantic and engaging game, but for the player to engage, the game must first grab and keep their attention.

We are gonna release a patch with better difficulty balance, we are displeased with how that turned out gameplay wise. a lot of cuts had to be made unfortunately

i see soooo much potential here the visuals are so good, the sfx surprised me when i noticed it halfway though the game, gameplay-wise i just think the player needs more goals because i was so down with just throwing boxes in those trucks, but with a bit more complexity and real danger to be had, it could be like a real mad dash here and there throw this put this down try to fit that here and all that (i only found out you could drink water when i accidentally did it near the end lol) but yeah this is one of my favorite games that ive played so far really if y'all are gonna be working on it more i can't wait to see where it goes

Seeing it as a prototype for a game jam I think it is amazing. The game play itself and the visuals were gorgeous and I can see so many directions you could go with this to make it a full fledged release game. (I.e. updates, currency management, quality of life/stress management etc.) It is a very smooth game to play and the game idea is fun. As others pointed out it misses a type of progression or change in game play to keep it fun and engaging, but the potential is 100% there. Looking forward to see where this goes!

Game looks and feels super nice! Love the animations and sounds, the crumpling cardboard boxes look so good and the throwing feel satisfying :D. The game mechanics in general feel super nice and satisfying. I would echo what other commenters have said, it needs some rewarding goal which can be quite hard to come up during a jam.

I would love to see this taken further as it has quite a bit of potential! Well done!

The artwork and animations are really impressive. There were some really nice details like destroying the speaker and the nametag deteriorating over time. I did feel like the parallax effect was a little strong. Great work!!

Really great art and all the functionality feels great, picking up and dropping boxes is super smooth, good feedback and juice on everything, fundamentals are A++ but the gameplay itself is just so boring. Maybe that's the point but idk it feels like a waste to have all this great game quality squandered on an incredibly boring game loop.

Great work, I'm really impressed, congrats on submitting :)

@3mpty

Thanks,
We on the team also felt the same by the time we finished it.
We have a lot of ideas which could spice up this loop and add further content if we decide to continue making the game. A lot of gameplay ideas unfortunately just didn't make it in this build due to the time limit.

I hope the patch at least serves as a good basis on what the jam build could have been if we were able to properly develop it.

I really liked the juiciness of the graphics, from the different expressions of the character to the fluid movement and scaling of the boxes. Despite the repetitiveness of the gameplay, I still enjoyed the game! I'd suggest adding more obstacles in your way with each day, maybe having to do some extra task like labelling boxes or having several sections in the limited space of the truck.

Thanks for the feedback! If we expand this into a bigger game that will be one of our main priorities, we already have some fun obstacles and extra tasks in mind :)

Incredible pixel art. It's so awesome that it doesn't even look like gamejam artwork. it even come close to other top pixel games like "Eastward" or "Celeste" . I could barely contain myself from stopping to take in the details in each shot! you did a good job!

Amazing game with a stunning artwork and simple, but perfectly done design. I love how interactive it is.
Incredibly polished!

A bit sad that truck pushes you out. It would be hilarious to drive away and receive "Gave Up" game over :)
Also noticed that water doesn't get refilled sometimes, maybe that's deliberate.

I would suggest adding a score (In time or better even Total Cargo Weight delivered) and show it when you lose.

Also I realized you may do nothing, but walk left and right, and you won't lose water, but gain it instead which is odd. So I did exactly that delivering absolutely nothing. Then I decided to deliver one truck and got stuck in a black screen (lost HP only 'cause cargo got damaged). I recorded and published as unlisted to maybe help you reproduce it somehow and figure out what's wrong.

And that's another one showing slacker play style.

Do looking forward for updates!

This is super helpful, thanks a lot for the feedback! we really appreciate it!

Yea the water cooler not filling is deliberate!

I'll show that glitch to the team, I am sure they'll find a way to fix it. I only do the art and come up with ideas really lol.

I am glad you like the portraits btw lol

I like job simulators. Your game has a good visual style, easy-to-learn controls and simple but interesting mechanics. Perhaps I would increase the speed of movement. Otherwise, everything is fine!

This game was really cool. The pixel art is fantastic, I especially like the depth you added to the background of the warehouse when you move. The gameplay loop was a little repetitive but otherwise this is a great game across the board!

Fantastic art and sounds, amazing atmosphere. Some story beats between the days could really spice it up, but honestly loads more ways to branch this out, outstanding entry. Shameless plug if you want another packing game my team also made one, albeit physics there are much more frustrating.

Wow the art in this is incredible! I absolutely loved the style and the gameplay while others have said is a little lacking in an end goal is simple and fun which honestly is what I personally love seeing on LDjam games. Something I can put my mind on hold and just relax (or slack) and play a nice game. The controls were actually really good, a little time to get used to but overall just fine for this style of game. Insane amount of polish, really love music which helps fit the mood, overall fantastic! Loved it! <3

Haha this is such a good game  I had so much fun. I love that you pay attention to smallest details  It makes the game much more satisying to play. Only issue I've got is occasional freeze. But i don't know if it's godot's fault or not
